This is an absolutely superb hotel set in beautiful surroundings beside the beach. There is an extensive pool flanked by palm trees looking on to a sandy and partly shingle beach. The rooms are lavishly appointed, generously spaced and very quiet with a top-of-the-range bathroom suite. There is a wide choice of food in the restaurant to serve all tastes and a good selection for vegetarians.

The resort has an amazing pool, great landscaping, nice rooms, a rather small but nice private sandy beach, a good breakfast and buffet restaurant (unfortunately only buffet, no a la carte service in the evening). All in all a good service and a great place which is however (and here comes the BUT) in the middle of nowhere, no restaurants or anything else in walking distance (4km to the next city).
The hotel offers a shuttle/bus service to several places at decent prices but with a rather odd schedulle as to their return times - no dinner or afternoon activities possible. If you don’t get yourself a rental car - which I would certainly recommend - the only solution is to get a cab - obviously the pricier option.
We had no rental car the first day and asked for a cab at the reception - big mistake. The price for a ride to the closest city (4,5 km away) was 10 EUR (displayed at the reception) = OK. We ended up paying 20 EURO for a 5.1 km trip - despite asking the reception about this. (Don’t expect a meter). We’ve been tricked and feel that the receptionist were part of it since they knew the driver and even called him during our ride and talked about this (not knowing that we understand a little bit of Italian).
If management would address this and make it easier for guests to move around (better shuttle service, fair “cab” fares), then this hotel would be a great pick if you choose this area, if not and whithout a rental car, you might want to think twice about this.

We had a triple room, but not quite as big as the others we had had, but it did have a large wardrobe. The bathroom was just about big enough for 2, the shower was over the bath. We had a nice balcony.
We found all the staff helpful and friendly.
All meals are buffet style with a good choice both for dinner and breakfast, though the hot food is never hot - they just don't do hot "hot" food in Sicily - and as throughout Italy, the plates are never warmed. After 3 days the choice of food was beginning to pall a little.
The hotel has beautiful grounds, a pool - again very cold - and a small beach. But the fact that everything was fenced in, with electronic gates, made you feel a bit as though you are in "The Prisoner" and expected a large white beach ball to come a get you if you escaped! (Apologies to those who don't understand this reference to a 1960s British TV series.)
There is a piano bar with a singer most nights, which unfortunately we could hear in our room, but that is about it for entertainment. There is a variety of sports equipment you can hire, eg tennis racquets, but as we didn't use them so we can't say how much they cost. Again, you had to pay to hire towels for the pool/beach, so bring your own.
Someone has already commented about all the little steps and mirrors around the place, which can cause trip hazards/confusion. We had an early start on our last day to go to the airport and the lighting to the restaurant was extremely poor, especially around the stairs going down. We had a go very carefully.

Last night of a 4 night stay. Good rooms ,good bed ,powerful shower . Rooms clean. Good choice of hot and cold food for breakfast and evening meal. Friendly and helpful staff in restaurant . Friendly and helpful staff in bar and on reception. Large garden at back of hotel for a walk to pool and a walk down to beach.

The service was good, the room was clean and kept clean, more than adequate for a single man. The location is isolated and apart from the bar entertainment there is little to do in the evening unless you want to hire a taxi to Cefalu. There is a very wide choice of food at the buffet breakfast and dinner, the sweets are to die for, but the hot food could be hotter, having said that the soups were fine. The outdoor pools were chilly, and the beach was as described, mixed pebbles and sand. Pool bar not cheap, but there is a more than adequate cafe about 5 minutes walk away that serves excellent food at lunch time at very reasonable prices.
The grounds are impressive and well maintained as is the hotel, but some attention needs to be paid to the stairs and stair wells. All the stairs and floors are covered with the same coloured tiles so the edge of the stairs need to be delineated so as to avoid missing ones step as was my experience. Better lighting at night would also help which would also help to avoid the confusion created by the numerous mirrors everywhere.
Overall it suited my reasons for staying there, but younger people looking for night life would be disappointed unles they had their own transport or prepared to hire taxis.
