Zip Lining was Absolutely Wonderful!

Our group of nine was picked up from our cruise ship. We had a fantastic experience with the 25 zip lines and seventeen waterfalls! The guys were wonderful. Would highly recommend -- it was our favorite activity on our 15 day cruise.

Beautiful waterfalls

Excellent Zip lining over waterfalls!! I believe there were twenty two zip lines. But you must do Superman at the end. Zip line Superman style for 1/2 mile. Views were unreal you can see the Pacific Ocean from top and while you Superman down!

best zip lining in Costa Rica

Best experience in Costa Rica

My dad has ziplining in Costa Rica on his 'bucket list' so for his 75th birthday. It wasn't part of my bucket list, mind you, but I was willing to try it out of love for my dad. Wow! That was truly one of the best activities I have ever done! The guides were all fantastic and made it so easy for us to zipline for the very first time! Just as the website says, there were 25 ziplines, of which 2 were repelling (going backwards over the waterfall). We had the perfect day and the scenery was just absolutely gorgeous! If you get the chance to zipline in CR, you have to do it here at the Adventure Park. The staff is great and the guides are amazing!

Incredible adventure, gorgeous location, fabulous hotel!

This was my fourth time here, and once again they did not disappoint!

I discovered this spectacular park & hotel a few years ago, from a friend. The first time I visited I only did the zip-line tour, but since then I make a point to STAY here...because there is so much more here than just the zip-lines. This place is seriously an amazing find, and has now become one of my favorite spots on earth, for so many reasons.

First, the hotel - this time we stayed in one of the newest rooms, a short walk up the driveway from the reception/hotel. Being a bit up the hill meant that the views from our room were stunning, and go on forever! It's way up in the mountains, but you can see for dozens of miles -- all the way out to the Gulf of Nicoya. And the sun sets in that direction too...what a treat! Sunset here is so stunningly beautiful, I don't think I even have words for it. We spent three nights here, and I made sure I was sitting outside to take in the sunset each night. Just breathtaking.

The room itself was wonderful - we were in #22, which has both a double bed and a huge king bed. The room and bathroom were well appointed, everything was spotless. There's a small fridge, and a flat-screen TV, which we never turned on because with a view like that, why bother? There's a small patio right outside the room looking out over the view, and I spent more time there than anywhere. There's also AC, but being up in the mountains meant that even in mid-summer it was comfortable so we never turned it on.

Then there's the restaurant, which is probably my favorite part of this property - it literally looks like a treehouse, built on a platform around an enormous fig tree sitting right in the middle, which is covered with vines and colorful plants...it's hard to describe. It feels like something out of Middle Earth - I kept expecting to see hobbits wandering around! There are comfortable sofas and chairs in the lounge area, picnic tables along the edge of the platform looking out to that...that...VIEW, and lovely dining tables inside by the bar. At night it's all so romantic, especially with the sun setting over the gulf.

And let's not forget the food! They serve an interesting variety - of course the standard Costa Rican dishes, but we also had a fabulous Caribbean pork dish, and a beef tenderloin with mushroom sauce that was to die for. Breakfast each morning included a plate of fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, toast & jelly, breakfast meats, rice/beans, and of course the delicious Costa Rican coffee.

Then there's the adventures! I did the 25-cable over 11 waterfalls tour again - fourth time, and it never gets old. The waterfalls were raging - and we zipped over them through the lush forest. The hardest part is trying to take it all in while it's happening! The thrill of plunging through the trees, the beauty of the waterfalls, the lushness of the forest...I have to remind myself to try very hard to be in the present so I don't miss anything. The swim in the pool under the waterfall comes at the perfect time - you're starting to get a bit hot and sweaty, and suddenly you get to plunge into a deep pool of fresh, clear mountain water, and sit under the pounding falls...wow!

I've done other zip-line tours, but none come even close to this one. Part of it is just the location - the scenery, the waterfalls, etc. But the guides also have a lot to do with it - they clearly put safety first, and display a level of expertise with the equipment that always makes me feel 100% secure. They're also friendly, funny and entertaining. You can tell they love doing this, and want nothing more than to make sure it's a fabulous experience for us.

This time I also did the superman zip-line, which is an entirely different kind of thrill. It seems to go on forEVER! And the fun part is that you zip right past the restaurant, so your friends and family can watch you as you go by (and take video!)

I also did a horseback ride, which was a wonderful two hours (they have varying durations available). This is when we got to see all the wildlife - we saw a huge toucan, various other colorful birds, enormous vivid butterflies, and a whole family of howler monkeys! I had Wagner for a guide, and he did a great job - he allowed me to choose my own pace. I've got some experience on horses so I'm good with trotting and even cantering, but I get a little nervous going any faster than that, so we took it at my pace. The horses looked well loved, and seemed very comfortable with strange riders. We rode up into the hills, and saw even more amazing views! Afterwards I took a cooling dip in their pool, which is fed by cool mountain spring water.

I have traveled extensively - been to Machu Picchu, the Galapagos, all over Europe, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Alaska, the Caribbean...and I've enjoyed many adventures, and stayed at many wonderful places. But I keep coming back here!
