Disappointing...

HollieCleo on 09/06/2017 00:09

It has taken me a while to write this review as I was probably trying to forget this holiday. After looking through a lot of hotels for my boyfriend's birthday we decided to go for a slightly cheaper option than usual and pick this hotel. The rooms looked a little bit more basic but we're not usually that fussy and we had left it a little bit late when booking.
Most of the staff were pleasant some more then others.
We were half board so had breakfast and dinner included. Food was ok not the most variety we've seen but enough choice for a 7 night stay.
Transport is good, local cheap buses that stop on the road at the end of the hotel drive and takes about 10/15mins to take you into Kos Town.
The hotel on first appearance looks modern and stylish, the rooms are much different. I was told at reception we had been upgraded to a sea view bungalow which I was very excited about. It was night when we arrived so at that point I couldn't really see. As I entered the room I was so disappointed I got rather upset, now I understand that Greek hotels have a very minimalist basic feel but this room was dated and tired and very depressing. In the morning I was filled with hope that our room would have an amazing view which would make up for the disappointment of the room... well it wasn't. Why call it a sea view room if you can't see the sea unless you walk out of your patio door and across the gardens??? I went to reception to see what the normal room with a sea view would be like in the main hotel, thinking it would possible be maybe a little bit more modern, the rooms are exactly the same just a lot smaller so decided to stick with the bungalow, and thought a room doesn't make a holiday!!!
Two days in and I managed to either get food positioning or severe heat stroke. I was very ill to say the least and couldn't really leave the room untill I started to feel better the day before we left. Now if this has happened to you, this is when the little things count, there is a tv but most of the channels are in German!! I understand Greece has a lot of German tourists but more than 3 American channels would be appreciated. Wifi is non existent in the bungalow rooms however pretty good in the grass area before the beach which is located further away from the main building, which I find weird!
The bed slates consistently moved and by night four I has waking up in the morning with back pain.
If u wanted a bath, I know it seems weird in hot weather but to comfort stomach ache don't try to use the jets in the baths they don't work. The water is tepid and then comes back up through the drain in the floor when you try to empty it and floods the bathroom!
I think being sick really put a downer on the holiday but also showed up more flaws with the room.
If for any reason you have to spend more time in a hotel room then planned it's worth looking at this before you pick a hotel.
I have a tendency to sometimes get burnt on holiday or we have a day of bad weather where you stay in your room or hotel. This hotel room just made me feel more depressed in these circumstances.
Sometimes it's worth spending a little extra even £100 to get better quality hotel and creature comforts. I don't understand why this hotel is rated as 4 stars. I don't expect the rating of a 4 star UK hotel but it's not even near the quality of European hotels I have previously stayed in!
Unfortunately I will not be returning to this hotel again or recommending it.

If you dont want a remote hotel this is not for you

Valerie B on 06/06/2017 16:58

Too remote. You will have to either get a bus/taxi or hire car to be able to get around, or rent a bike, which they have at the front of the hotel.
For a four star hotel, the bungalow with a sea view was worth paying for the upgrade. Being told to vacate the bungalow by mid-day and not having the airport transfer until 00:40 with two children in tow was not easy! We had to rent another room for 20 euros extra for 4 hours (this room very basic and dated), and then the rest of the time we had to hang around at the pool bar!
NO KETTLE IN ROOMS!!! they have fridge and a tv but if your up very early like we are you will have to wait until 07.30 am to get a cuppa. Had to get the TUI rep to get the manager to get a kettle for us as his response was "well you should have thoroughly checked out the hotel on line and not through your travel agents. Also that the kettles are reserved for families with babies, and that we don't broadcast that your room has a jacuzzi". Thankfully our TUI rep told him what for and within the hour we had a kettle in our room.
The food in the restaurant was luke warm at all meal times. The receptionist response was to tell the waiting staff and they would reheat it for us. Mmm...I did not do this as it was self serve restaurant for the food, don't know how long it had been sat around for!
NB If you want somewhere to store your valuables in, then there is a safe in your room, be advised they will charge you 18 euros for someone to come in and unlock it. You cant just use it!!

Holiday

after a long journey to the hotel we arrived to find one person on reception, where it took another hour to check us all in, with no all inclusive bands left, arrived at the room to find there was only 2 plug sockets one in the middle of the bed and one behind the tv. The bathroom was so out dated old fashion not very clean the shower was just a pipe coming from the tap and it was all stained and yellow. The pool side toilets was more updated and clean and this should be the case in the hotel rooms!! However the view from the room was spectacular and the pool area was out of this world some of the staff was very nice, the shop keeper was extremely friendly. over all we was pleased and had a fantastic holiday however would recommend that the bedrooms are updated along with the food at the all inclusive, the staff could be more helpful, there are two bar areas but you could only get drinks at the pool bar.

So relaxing

Excellent family holiday! The hotel was beautiful and all the staff were so friendly.
Victoria who did all the animation was amazing with our kids.
Food was lovely, not a big selection but very tasty.
The hotel and pool area was kept spotless.
We stayed in a bungalow and they were cleaned daily, but unfortunately we still had a lot of ants and other insects in the bathroom.
We didn't need to be told who the hotel manager was as he was around all the time, standing in the restaurant while you got your food, I know he was doing this with the best intentions as he wants everything to be perfect but I can imagine it wouldn't be pleasant for all of the staff as I certainly wouldn't want my manager standing over me all day.
Overall we had an amazing holiday and it was so relaxing. The hotel is small which was perfect for the kids as we felt comfortable letting them go off with their other friends, to the park, pool table ect.
Would definitely go again

found tis hotel to be great ,,, food was good and the service excellent ,, the manager in restaurant was really nice always had a welcome smile ,, Victoria the animation lady was really good always there with a smile n happy to help ,, I read a bad review on her but please ignore this ,, some people just like to moan ,, at the bar pool we met romeo who himself was a delight to be around , always smiling and chatting to you ,, made you feel so welcome ,, we had a beech front bungalow and it was fab ,, cleaned everyday and could not fault this ,, at meal time it was a little off putting to see the manager of the hotel stool there watching you serve up your own meals ,, I would say the only bad part of this holiday was the was no ATM machine in hotel yet on there tv it say you could exchange money into euro at the reception but this was not the case ,, I would make sure you have plenty euro before you go ,, also the only other thing was the tv has only 2 English channels ,, news and music ,, could be a little boring if you want to stay in your room ,, but I must say overall this hotel is great and I would love to come back ,, just please could you amend the few things mentioned ,,
