This hotel is first of all not 5 stars and it is located in the middle of nowhere so you need to have a car. We came here for our honeymoon and the staff were not willing to upgrade us which is fine I guess as they are not obliged but it would have added value. Our pillow cases, bedsheets and sofa was completely dirty. The worst part was the variety in terms of food, we had half board however we were unable to eat 80% of the food for reasons that the food was mainly pork and also unfresh. They would recycle the same salad, fruit dessert pretty much every day. The melons, the salad were all off. We cannot remember an incident where the food was fresh or even properly heated. They also charged us for drinks for half board. No free use of spa such as sauna, jacuzzi (not sure exactly what they had). Overall it was very average and not a five star hotel.

Recently returned from a 10 day stay here.
Located on Afandou Bay just a 2 minute walk from the beach. Modern lobby and reception areas, very comfortable. Excellent front desk staff, and very pleasant and courteous bar and food serving staff too.
Pool is deep and large and very clean. Nice seperate shallow area for young children.
Our room was a family room even though only 2 of us staying. TBH it was a bit "lived in". By that I mean some loose plug sockets and knocked furniture, some scuff marks here and there. As it was a family room I was surprised at the amount of glass present, huge glass doors to both bedroom and bathroom, and a large glass sink bowl and a large glass table in the living area too. Shower seen better days and didn't provide hot water before 9 am for some reason. 2 x TVs provided but no English speaking channels I could find, not even the BBC World News one.
Maid service very good and cleaned well.
Good wifi throughout the area of the main building and pool areas, but a bit hit and miss in our room probably due to the proximity to the main building.
Recommend a rental car to explore whole island - easily done in a couple of days.
Beware not to fill up the tank of petrol as you will never use it all in 2 days.
Excellent beach with a lovely calm and warm sea during the morning.

The place is lovely and very well kept. Just across the street from a very relaxing beach. The food is very good (I do not understand the complaints I read) and the service at both breakfast and dinner time is great. Absolutely great place for a relaxing break.

This was a lovely quiet Hotel and resort, staff were super helpful and friendly, the restaurant and snack bar food was excellent. Rooms and suites were both spacious and very clean with superb air conditioning. Beach although pebbles was easily accessible with clear waters and an excess of sunbeds. would recommend this resort to people looking for a quiet relaxing break. The pool area was well kept with plenty of sunbeds and shades here too. The only thing to mention is that it is quite secluded with nothing else nearby so a car will be needed for those who wish to explore. Additional food and drinks are a little pricey due to captive audience.

Firstly, let me start with the really great things. Generally the staff, in particular restaraunt, bar and snack bar are wonderful. Always polite and trying to do their best to please. Great to get to know them and very generous when celebrating my in-laws Golden Wedding. The rooms are very nice (maybe not what I would call English / US 5 star) but really good for Greece. The pool is lovely and for some of the time quite quiet. The beach is only a very short walk away which is brilliant.
Now for the areas to improve. Whilst the choice of food is generally good, the main course at dinner almost always came out luke warm or cold which was disappointing as it actually potentially tasted nice. As is the case in a lot of hotels, sun beds were a problem. Initially for a few days all was fine, however when several new contingents of other tourists arrived, the Battle for Afandou Bay sunbeds commenced at about 7:30 in the morning. More sunbeds are needed please! There were a few minor problems with the availability of towels and getting locked in the bathroom which were rectified quickly.
If you're looking for a UK / US 5 star quality, this isn't up to that standard, however it is the best hotel in the area and we had a lovely time staying there.
Thank you to the staff at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable.
