What People are saying
Fantastic location and house, but...

The house is a dream by itself, unfortunately sometimes this dream turns into a nightmare.
By the price u paid for the night + transportation + food... is totally overrated according the service offered.
Nights are perfect because the house only holds no more than 5 rooms, so its almost the hole place for yourself, Not the same during the day because the hotel perform something called "PASA DIA" which means people not in budget to spend the night at the house can come by boats to make A MESS of this little paradise. So think about ULTRA loud music, boats full of drunk people partying in front of you and your family, sellers everywhere from 9 am to 5 pm when this miscellaneous spectacle of people jump into theirs caves, but that is not the worst!. Think about this amazing place with locals jumping on u to offer a ride on water motorcycles, banana boat and other types of inflatable crap the whole day, so the gentile sounds of the waves turns into a NIGHTMARE of gas smelling coming from their machines the WHOLE DAY! what a pity of this beautiful corner in the Colombian Caribbean.
The food at the place is a total joke. laking of the characteristic caribbean creativity. The place serve brown rice and one slide of tomato with chopped lettuce as a side for around 25 usd! more than the average price at any high end restaurant in Cartagena.
With improvements with the service, food and balancing the selling testosterone of the locals on the beach, this place will return to its roots definitely.
Honeymoon ruined. Enough said.

These people double booked our room and gave it to another couple who got there first. They ruined my honeymoon, lied about it, made us take two boats for four hours and didn't even try to make it up for us. WORST. PLACE. EVER.
Honestly, stay in Cartagena and just go to the islands for the day. They DO NOT have decent hotels there.
This place is a CIRCUS.
Beautiful but over rated. Not so good experience.

I've spent 5 nights at this "hotel", former private house. The place it's beautiful, but unfortunately the experience wasn't so good, specially for the high price we've payed, versus the low quality of the experience.
1) SERVICE
The staff is very kind, but unfortunately they are not the right professionals for this kind of hotel/guest house:
1.1) They don't have the necessary experience to provide a professional service, with quality and attention;
1.2) They are too young to know how to treat guests cordially, with the sophisticated posture they must have for this kind of place;
1.3) Some of them are not nice to guests (cleaning girls). Not even a smile, or a "good morning" I've received;
1.4) When I hired the boat for a trip to Isla del Rosario, I was extremely surprised with the terrible and uncomfortable small boat that took me. Actually I didn't make all the trip because of that, and after lunch I went back to the hotel;
2) PRICE/VALUE
I understand the beauty of this place, the unique location, and the special architecture of the house, but:
2.1) The price is far too high for what they offer (bad service, bad cleaning, bad conditions of the room). Definitely the price per night it's over rated;
2.2) This high price should provide an perfect environment, service, comfort, modernity and facilities in the "hotel". It doesn't.
3) HOTEL
For the price I've paid, I expected to have much more in such a "sophisticated" place. Unfortunately that didn't happen, and I felt cheated (price x value x service x facilities x comfort).
3.1) Wi-fi:
It's unbelievable that I didn't have access to wifi during my staying. Nowadays that's impossible to happen anywhere, specially when we pay so much to stay in a good hotel. Sometimes we need to be connected for personal or professional reasons, even if we are on holidays.
3.2) No hot water for showers?!!!
It's primitive. I'd agree with it if I was paying $20 per night, as in a hostel.
3.3) Cleaning
When I first arrived to the room, it wasn't well cleaned. I had to ask to the manager for the room to be cleaned "again". This can't happen. Never!
3.4) Room
The room it's not comfortable enough as it should be. It should have better mattress, more cushions, a nice interior design, a good pack of amenities, protection against small animals (safety net for windows), good towels...
The "hotel" has a lot of potencial, for its location and space. It's a shame the actual situation. It's clear to me that it's not a professional management.

Carlos Gomes.
Paradise on an Island

First arriving by boat, you are greeted by gracious hosts who aim to please. Beautiful plantation style of house with full air circulation (feels great at night), with a fantastic pool and seats overlooking a beach for the day comers and few who stayed the night.
Food is limited but will suffice for your short visit, remember, you are their for the scenery, not the food.
Tip of the week, and i should hold this back for selfish reasons of visiting next time, but stay for the night as all the "day trippers" leave mid/later afternoon which means you get the whole resort essential to yourself, and romantic for couples.
Shout out to the staff from the NY guy!
Chris
Set your expectations accordingly!

This is a lovely 3 star B&B. It is not luxurious or a 5 star and does not claim to be. The staff here is perfectly lovely. There are 4-5 people that work here and from what we could tell, they are all working together and everyone does all of the various tasks: cooking, cleaning, serving, etc. Yes, the wait time for food is long, but that is due to the fact that there are only 4-5 people working. The food is EXCELLENT. We read all of the reviews before we came and planned accordingly by ordering our dinner at 5pm so that it was ready at 6:30p. We ordered our breakfast the night before and asked for it to be ready at 8:30am. We are a family of 5 people and we had the entire "resort" to ourselves for the night which was very nice. The pool is warm and is a stone's throw from the beach. The people that work here are very hard working. They are not constantly running around to ask about your needs, but if you ask for a drink, they will bring it. It's a B&B, not a four seasons. Why anyone would honeymoon here is beyond me (referencing an earlier review). They do not have any spa services here. No wifi. No gym. No hot water. It's a very remote and relaxing location.
