The night I thought I was going to be murdered

Beemac2014 on 04/07/2017 16:31

I had the terrible misfortune to stay in this 'hostel' recently as I couldn't get in anywhere else . I had stayed before and whilst basic was clean so I thought would do fine .... How wrong was I . Firstly they had mislaid my online booking but unluckily for me they found a room as otherwise literally full to the brim. I went to room which smelt of damp but bed clean so had shower and watched bit of telly- and then all hell broke loose. Couple started screaming and swearing at each other outside my door , using the most abusive, violent and horrible language , and sounded like they were hitting each other . Then they started knocking on my door - then thumping it telling me to open the door tho frankly when the man started to sink his boot into the door there was going to be no need for me to open it. In panic I told them to go away and when heard voice realised I was not who he was looking for and stopped- for a while . Terrified wasn't in it and I am so glad I had no children with me as there were children crying in fear by now. I would have left but too scared to open door to enter mini Beirut. After a long time things went quiet until 3.30 am and started again . I was fully dressed by this time waiting to make my escape . By 5 it had been quiet an hour so I crept out of room down stairs and shaking got to car and away . Honestly I thought I was going to be murdered and I couldn't contact anyone as scared to ring police in case they heard me and the reception wouldn't answer. Do not EVER stay here - this is not a B and B it's a hostel for the homeless, and whilst I have every sympathy for their situation I never want to be caught in middle of anything like that again . I was truly frightened and paid €50 for the privilege. Like I said before , thank god I had no children with me , we would have been trapped and no way of protecting them . Absolutely dreadful never stay here -ever. Sleep in your car you'd be safer and might get some sleep

Let me start by warning all to AVOID this so called B&B at all cost!!!
We had the misfortune of having to stay here last weekend as we needed accommodation for myself,my partner and our twin girls aged 22 months. All other local hotels were full.
The owner said he did not have any rooms at main building, so had to travel further out of town to a converted house far away from any local amenities. The room was a decent size, but there was no ensuite, no wardrobes or drawers to hang clothes and no proper bedding for the cots.
For breakfast we had to travel back to B&B, which took a lot of effort with 2 little ones. It was very average so we did not return next morning. Later that same day, after being out with family, we returned to room to find that all our belongings had been thrown into bags. We confronted the owner who informed us that the room had only been booked for 2 nights not 3 and that he was now fully booked for that night. This was not the case. We were more or less turfed out into the street with 2 young ones. We now know that the owner is renting out rooms to DSS/Housing benefit people and taking cash only payments.
Our weekend should have been a celebration, but was ruined by this unscrupulous charlatan mascerading as a guest house proprietor.

Terrible B&B

Rooms are dirty and no pillows.Service was awful and owner demanded cash not card.

Would never stay here again and definately would not recommend.Rooms are small and outdated. Not even suitable for a stag or hen weekend.

Not really a B&B

This 'hostel' is somewhat misrepresented on tripadvisor. The rooms are tiny, there seems to be no one on duty. It is nearly a half hour from the airport by public bus and at least a twenty minute walk into the nearest village and only place to get anything to eat. The so called breakfast is an electric water pot, some individual envelopes of tea and instant coffee and a couple of individually wrapped cookies. It may be OK for back-packers, but not for the adult traveler looking for a convenient place to spend the night waiting for a connecting flight.

DREADFUL - AVOID!

I stayed here years ago and it was wonderful. It has since been taken over and everything has really gone down hill! The initial contact was rude, the reception was ok. The room was disgusting! It was tiny, smelled funny, cramped, dirty, bathroom was terrible.
I had cooked breakfast the first morning and the bread was mouldy! I complained but it put me off the rest of the breakfast. I didn't have the breakfast the following morning because the first one had put me off.
It seemed that the entire place was full of long staying guests. I can only describe it as something like a "half way house".
Certainly not worth 126.00 Euro for 2 nights and two breakfasts. I could have stayed in a hotel for that price!
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
