Lots of stairs!

Great location. Very near St. Stephen's Green, which is Victorian and a beautiful park. The hotel itself has no lift and we were on the 7th floor-only request lower floors. Good breakfast with an especially nice selection of breads and cheeses.

great base

Nice old terrace style hotel but needs a bit of TLC. The rooms are a good size with character and the breakfast though only continental was plentiful and tasty and the staff are happy and pleasant. Down side, well it is opposite a nightclub and directly outside is a tram that runs ( or seems to run) every 2 minutes with its bell ringing and the rooms although double glazed block out none of the noise so take ear plugs.

Long weekend in Dublin

Both me and my girlfriend were really happy with this hotel, the staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming, our room was available to check in earlier than stated which was really helpful as we're were travelling on an early flight.

The room was modern and clean with all the necessary amenities.

The only improvement we'd recommend are more variety for the breakfast such as porridge/granola etc. Also we're quite warm in the room even with radiator on low which lead to us opening the window during the night, because of this we could hear noise from a nearby club. It wasn't a major issue but it was still noticeable.

Overall we're really did enjoy our stay and would stay here again along with recommending it to others.

Great place to stay

A group of us stayed at Albany House for the weekend.

The rooms were a great size and had all the amenities we needed.

It is a lovely old building with lots of character. It could do with a little tlc and a bit of updating but everything was very clean. Some areas are looking a little tired and could do with attention but this didn't put us off at all as it was still a great place to stay.

There are lots of stairs and winding corridors so I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are not prepared to climb a lot of stairs. Some of our rooms were quite a long way from reception. Personally I thought it was very quirky and the rabbit warren set up added to the hotels charm but I can see how it would be a problem for some less fit or able guests.

We had a lower ground basement room that was nice and quiet. I think the rooms on the front might be a bit noisy as the night club over the road is open until 4 or 5am and there is a tram that goes last. For a city centre hotel I didn't hear any noise at all in our room though.

The staff are what really makes this hotel get 5 stars from me. Nothing was too much trouble. Everybody was above and beyond friendly and helpful. They are an absolute credit to the hotel!!! They really did go the extra mile for our entire stay!

The hotels location was perfect for us. A short walk to the main shopping areas, tram stop round the corner etc. St Stephens green is lovely for a walk and the shops nearby are all the usual high street stores.

The hotel serves a light continental breakfast that was very nice with fresh bread, fruit, cheese, cereal and toast but on our day of arrival we went to a cafe recommended by reception for a late breakfast. It is in the little alley over the road and called gerrys. It is full of locals and work men but the breakfast was cheap and good!

Devitts bar, Jerusalem and pickle restaurants were within walking distance and were also very good. The road parallel to the hotel had lots of good bars and restaurants, a lovely deli/supermarket called Fresh and a Tesco express. We didn't feel the need to go right into the centre at night as we had a great choice right near the hotel.

All in all a great hotel that I wouldn't hesitate staying in again.

Perfect base for a Dublin City break

We spent two nights at Albany House mid-week. The hotel is set in a Georgian Terrace very close to St Stephen's Green. The rooms are basic but ours was a good size and spotlessly clean and the bathroom was big and well appointed for this price range. The public area of the hotel has a dining room for breakfast only. Although not the legendary Irish Breakfast experience, the 'continental' breakfast was fine and the staff were very helpful and polite. Probably the best thing about the Albany House is it's location, being so close to everything you would want to visit on a short trip to Dublin. One bit of advice: ask for a room at the back of the hotel because the tram runs right outside and it is noisy. Also, there are several nightclubs on Harcourt Street and I was told that it can remain noisy until 4am. Our room was at the back and it was very quiet and peaceful.
