One night passing through

Perhaps not a good day...., staff very preoccupied with what appeared to be a private function. Children chasing each other around, no staff in the bar ( the harassed receptionist had to oblige). Big difference between pets allowed and pet friendly, the latter they definitely were not. Very frosty reception to our two well behaved dogs but they were happy to charge €10 each dog. The room was tiny, clean and functional and the food was good. Despite the wonderful setting and views there is nowhere to sit outside and the pool area is closed other than July/August. Very shabby but could be made into a fabulous outside seating area. Due to a local celebration of bull fighting, the main village square had been transformed into a makeshift bullring with bullfighting to take place the next day. We were told parking was in a public car park accessed via very steep steps, great fun with luggage and two dogs! However, the following morning whilst checking out I heard the receptionist (a different one) say to a fellow Spanish guest he could of course park outside the hotel. She probably didn't realise I understand Spanish. The worst was the noise...all night people walking around the village blowing horns ...nightmare. Couldn't wait to leave the next day. In the hotel's defence, they did warn us by email they couldn't guarantee a quiet time due to the village fiesta, but we didn't realise how bad it would be and that our being there appeared to be an inconvenience. To summarise, very pretty (a bit creepy) possibly a different atmosphere on another day....
Simple but nice

Lovely view from room of the old town. Very nice staff who don't speak fluent English but enough to work things out. Note free parking is 5-10mins walk up the hill to the hotel. Great value option in the old town.
Tiny room, just enough for a single night

We stayed here for a single night on our trip to the south of Spain. It's probably because of our budget that my room was so extremely tiny, because now I see that this hotel also has beautiful big rooms with great view. The town itself is awesome by the way. I would highly recommend going for a walk in the evening, even when it can be quite a climb.
The bed wasn't very comfortable, the bathroom was very tiny as well and not very clean. I didn't use the shower because I didn't feel comfortable with its hygiene. Toilet got stuck while "refilling" the water reservoir and wasn't usable until I pulled up the lid of the tank, after which it couldn't be put back down without help of their staff.
Overall I got exactly what was paid for :) A room with a bed and clean water. Breakfast was very nice!
Great place to stay

Nice atmosphere. Room was fine, bed was comfy. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good. You can park close to hotel when unloading luggage and other, longer term parking, is not far. We don't speak much Spanish but we there were plenty of English speakers on the staff.
A room with a view

The 1960's feel of the place was way more compensated for by the comfortable spacious bedroom offering a balcony with the best view in town. The world heritage village is supposed to be traffic free so hence none of the hotels in the old part offer parking. Be prepared for the walk up the hill back from the municipal car park after you have dropped off your luggage in reception. Breakfast was acceptable if slightly unimaginative. This hotel offers everything in the way of comfort for a short stay in this attractive, well worth visiting, village
