The hotel upgraded us to a suite. The room was large with a separate bedroom and another area with a lounge and a desk. The room was very clean and the furnishings looked very new. The staff are very passionate about the history of the building .The breakfast was good with excellence coffee.

We went on a tour of Italy for our summer vacation and we stayed in great hotels, all highly rated on Tripadvisor. We stayed at the Albergo Cappello for the same reasons: great reviews on Tripadvisor and listed in the Michelin. So far so good. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the location is perfect: right in the centre of the old town of Ravenna. But we are sorry to say that neither the service nor the breakfast were up to the standards of a hotel which charges approx eur 150 a night for a standard room. For instance, we stayed 2 nights at the hotel and our room was cleaned (after we complained because it had not been done) only around 4-6pm the next day. The elevator broke down and my boyfriend ended up lugging heavy baggage down the staircase because no one could help (we are both able bodied people but what if we had not had the physical strength?). We walked in reception after a visit and we were able to take our hotel key without anyone seeing (we kept the key with us, thinking it was safer with us than with the hotel). The breakfast was nice but no hot food, and only one croissant per person (because we were told the other guests had eat all the others). These are little things but considering we spent 300 euros for 2 nights, and because we are in the position to compare this hotel with the others we went to during our tour, we were disappointed. Not good value for money.

This small jewel like property is like staying in a Palazzo , small but great staff, good breakfast - huge historic room with original 16th century frescoes. It a little tricky to find in the maze of old Ravenna but far and away the best place to stay.

Small, but big hotel. Only seven rooms, but very beautiful and big rooms. Arrived very late - after hours - still I was received as nice as everyone else. Slept good in the king size bed, found a nice breakfast and was ready for the tasks I had to do for my first day in Ravenna. The Albergo Cappello is placed in the heart of the old city with a short walk to all you desire; shopping, sights and restaurants.

this is one of the nicest and most comfortable and comforting hotels at which I have ever stayed. I had a large room, albeit at a somewhat high price, but it was worth it. The décor was Venetian but not overdone, the bed was awesomely comfortable, the bathroom modern and well appointed. Lots of sitting space. the hotel has a very great bar/enoteca and a nice restaurant, with very, very good food and a very friendly and knowledgeable barman/wine steward.
