The hotel and area had activities for all ages. The staff can help with the information about the activities. The staff is multi lingual also could not be more wonderful. Francesco in particular is amazing and could not be more fantastic. They all are accommodating, generous and sweet. The hotel and rooms are very clean warm and comforting. The restaruant is lovely and the food is good. They have a bar for guests cocktail and coffee needs. Next to it is a wifi zone. In the back is a game room with games and pool table and connected is a little area for kids to play. In another part they have a relax room with a sort of spa and mini workout room. If you would like a massage book in advance because the woman is brilliant passionate and is the main misuse for the area. This hotel is so charming and perfect for weddings, events a vacation and a weekend get aways. The hotel is perfect year round with all the activities. There is also parking.

I was recently part of A group of 18 cyclists from Canada visiting this hotel. It is quite unique. Family owned and operated, it is geared for cycling, hiking and other sports. The hotel is not luxurious but comfortable. The food is very good and the location is lively, on top of a mountain, though not convenient in an urban sense. It feels like a country home. The most important part is the people running it. They are all so friendly and eager to please. Truly wonderful. After one day they knew all our names and made us feel at home. We loved the cycling and the entire family of hoteliers running this hotel.

We had lunch at the hotel's restaurant after hiking Monte Amiata on a Road Scholar tour. It was a memorable lunch, for sure. We had hiked all morning and arrived tired and hungry. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated in the bright, large dining room. Our menu included a Tuscan hand-made pasta with tomato-garlic sauce, wild mushroom soup, salad and tiramisu. Everything was delicious, but the mushroom soup was unbelievable. It was served in a bread bowl and included large slices of mushrooms in a wonderful golden broth. Yum!!! We continued our hike in this amazing region after lunch. I had to write this review as it's a meal that I'll remember for a long time.

We can only speak in superlatives from our trip in South Tuscany thanks to Francesco and the whole staff of Hotel Le Macinaie. The hotel is high located (~1400m) on the beautiful Monte Amiata and it takes. about 20 min. to drive down from tthe hill, but you can reach every beautiful place of South Tuscany in an hour. You can really enjoy this beautiful part of Italy, the amazing landscape, the nice cities, the fantastic food and wine yards there. Just ask the staff for recommendations! You can spend relaxing time in the hotel as well, and don´t miss to try out the cuisine and the wines for a dinner. Really big thanks again to made our trip unforgettable and hope to see you soon!

the staff and the whole place is like if you were at home, in the circle of your family and friends but in the woods on a beautiful mountain top! thank you for all Francesco! wish we could stay more than 3 days! greetings from Hungary, looking forward to see you again!
