Outside mass tourism, yet in the Dolomites
Bedrich Mon 23/09/2013 09:49Family run hotel in the village of Cibiana at the edge of the Italian Dolomites offers standard accommodation in a relatively small room with private bathroom. The advantage of the hotel is excellent cuisine with local specialties and local wine. Hotel is less suitable for winter stays, the ski centres are quite far away, but in the summer it is a good starting point for hiking in the less visited part of the Dolomites. Neither the village of Cibiana nor the hotel is not for those looking for a night life, but for those tourists who want to spend a few days in peace away from the bustle of today's world.
Quite nice in the Dolomites
Jason Hon 11/06/2013 18:03A group of six of us stayed at this quaint hotel on a recent trip to the Dolomites for a trail running race. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and room. Our room had beds for five and a clean bathroom. There is free wifi internet available on the second floor but not in rooms on other floors. Romano, the proprietor and chef, spoke English well and cooked up some fantastic meals for us on two nights. The meals were fantastic affairs with at least two choices for first and second courses. The breakfast was standard toast, marmalade, boiled eggs, coffee, juice, meat and cheese and quite tasty. We'd certainly stay here again.
Great little Italian in the Mountains!!
Burt79on 16/05/2013 10:33This is a fantastic little weekend getaway. Very friendly hosts that will make you feel at home and cook you a incredible meal in the kitchen. My stay was raining but was very cosy just to kick back and relax. fantastic views also.
Nice people, great view and great food
Buzztoon 03/08/2010 13:44This is a small hotel with a “real” Italian feel. The owner (Remauro) and his mother (?) are extremely nice. The dinner I had there was excellent. The room was nothing special but it was clean and quiet. The bar near the reception attracts a few old locals.
The area is beautiful. Make sure you plan your trip well because there isn’t much to do over there (in the evenings).
No Internet access in this area.
what a wonderful people at the Remauro
HarzLupaon 08/10/2009 19:31it is hard to describe the warm welcome and good feeling I had from the very beginning at the Remauro. If for helping me organizing my daily walking tours, sight seeing in the surrounding or just enjoying a nice drink. All the people at the Remauro were extremely friendly and I really felt like being at home. The location is just breathtaking and even without a car I managed to make several excursions such as Monte Rite. Romano, the chef, is a most ambitious cook. Every evening there was a new surprise.
The village Cibiana/ Pianezze with its murals is so cute. It is like an open air museum. You must consider though that it is either up or down in this area so nothing for bad walkers.
Am looking forward to another holiday at the Remauro.
