Breakfast is everything!
eshtukon 08/11/2017 13:27My boyfriend and I just got back form our trip to Como. Albergo Terminus was everything I thought it would be, centrally located, cosy and the exact opposite of a budget-hotel! We had a small room overlooking the lake. The view was wonderful and we really appreciated the complimentary water.
But the best part was the breakfast buffet! So many choices even for vegetarians... I can even say that that was the highlight of the whole trip! Also, shout out to the lady in charge of the breakfast buffet. She was lovely.
Italian Honeymoon
Ilene Don 06/11/2017 17:20The Albergo Terminus Hotel is centrally located and very grand and beautiful. We opted out of the breakfast as that option seemed extremely overpriced. While the views and the room itself were quite nice, we definitely felt the level of formality...it felt a bit stuffy at times and we were not permitted to bring a bottle of champagne and cheese to the large courtyard as apparently you must be served in that area. Again, a very nice hotel and it got the job done, but it did not feel as warm and welcoming as other hotels we stayed at in Italy.
Great Staff, Location and service

The only negative we found was the air conditioning seemed hoter than normal and there wasn't enough adjustment to cool it down. It was to noisy to have a window open, which made sleeping uncomfortable.
An excellent prestige hotel adjacent to Lake Como
Van Mon 31/10/2017 13:48My wife and I stayed at the Hotel for about 7 days as a base for the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza and I must say were really impressed. The hotel is located adjacent to Lake Como and from our room we had views of the lake, the piazza and the mountains that surround the lake. The room was excellent and traditionally decorated, and had large built in wardrobes, a small kitchen style area with microwave, fridge, etc and a very large bathroom with shower and jacuzzi-type bath. There was a also a juliette balcony to enable us to appreciate the views.
We found the staff to be very helpful both at reception and in the restaurant. Breakfast was the usual buffet style and could be had inside or in a small court yard dependent on the weather. There was a wide choice to suit all tastes and nationalities and I believe some items came at an additional charge. We had a couple of evening meals in the restaurant which is in a lovely setting and overlooks the Lake. It was not busy but there is a lot of competition and it was towards the end of the season. The choice on the menu was fine for us, the service was quick and the staff very pleasant. The meal was slightly more expensive than I would have imagined but the setting partially made up for this.
The hotel was closed for a period some years ago and completely renovated whilst retaining the traditional look and feel. Whilst we were there some further renovation work was being done but the noise was not intrusive.
As I said at the outset We were really impressed by the hotel and what it had to offer and would definitely stay again.
Delightful lakeside hotel
Bill Fon 16/10/2017 09:31We just finished a three night stay at Albergo Terminus Hotel and could not be any happier with our experience. The location is excellent--you're literally five minute's walk to the train station, the Duomo and Piazza Mazzini. If you want to take the Funicular to the top of the mountain it's just a couple minutes past the train station. The restaurant and lounge on the second floor have lovely views of the lake and we found it to be a great place in the evening for an aperitif.
The staff was very accommodating, nothing was too much for them. The front office team and Valentina were wonderful. We had rented bicycles to do some touring and the staff helped us lock them away in the evenings for safety. At breakfast the team always gave a warm greeting and made excellent coffees.
The hotel feels that it has a great sense of history, but was very clean and well maintained. I did notice that there was some construction nearby but in no way did this detract from our experience, and no issues with noise. I would highly recommend this hotel for your Como visit as we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and exploring Como from this location.
