What a lovely little hotel, 20 rooms. Very surprised at this 2 star AA rated hotel. Clean, bright hotel. A bit hard to find. Cost us £44 a night and £7:50 each for breakfast. Cooked to order breakfast. Very nice and worth it. Does do evening meals but did not have one as visiting friends. If you are looking for a nice clean hotel and not a run of the mill one then try this one.

The website is deceiving and portrays a nice clean inviting hotel with nice rooms and nice decoration etc !
In reality , we arrived to be shown 3 rooms which were all very dated , white washed and paper pealing off all over . Windows falling to bits and holes in walls. The floor boards were so ill repaired that the floors were not even and they freaked loudly with every step we took, hence we could also hear every step other guests took from within our rooms . I went down to order some drinks and the 2 staff members argued over who would serve me and then again how to actually find and serve the drinks . Neither had pulled a pint before .
Glasses were dirty and I had to change it myself prior to pouring a bottle of cider into the glass . Having retired to bed I was then woken at 1:30am by people standing talking and smoking outside my window which was a single pain of glass and not sound proofed . The reception phone was constantly ringing throughout the night which could be heard whilst trying to sleep.
I decided to go for a drive at 3am as I couldn't sleep due to being woken and as I went into reception I was met by the night receptionist sleeping on the sofa only to jump up in surprise at me coming down saying , do want me to unlock the door for you ? and when you come back just wake me up by ringing the bell.... very unprofessional staff and I guess they have had no or little training .
On a plus side and hence my 2 star grading , the breakfast was ok tho quite greasy and the bed itself was comfortable ( if only I could have been aloud to sleep in it ) .
This hotel is NOT what is portrayed on the website and I would advice caution before booking or parting with your cash . I'm also now aware that this hotel is owned by the same people who own the Gomersal Park Hotel which is also in the same state of disrepair . Needless to say I will not be returning !!!!!
Disappointing

A very basic room , in need of an update , the bathroom was old mouldy and very tired , a big hole in the dressing room chair, almost sat on it and went straight though , a little bit confused about the temperature in the room it was constantly very hot , and we had no way of turning it down so we opened the window but as to leave it open through the night , not ideal really
Just vey tired old , dirty , scruffy , torn
With a little tlc , this could be a perfect little stay , great location looking into beautiful grounds.
Discusting behaviour!

On arrival on sat 16th sept for one night with my 70 year old mother and two teenagers I was told the cottage I had booked to stay in which is just to the side of hotel had been let to someone else for 3 nights. guy behind desk didn't no what to do apart from call the manager who didn't pick up. I was left to find some were to stay myself no further contact from hotel to appologise or from booking .com where the booking was originally made this is totally unacceptable and you should be ashamed!! Avoid!

This was an horrible dirty room we stayed in! On check in the person behind reception didn't even greet us. The telly didn't work in the room. Black dust on the radiator, leafs in the window, fusty smelly carpets. Feel like we have been robbed for this standard room. would not stay again.
