This is a great place to stay for a nice, relaxing vacation. There were a lot of people lounging around taking naps under and olive tree.
We stayed here for 10 days for Summer vacation in 2015 and enjoyed it so much we went back again this year. Family of 4...13 year old Boy and 9 year old Girl. We enjoyed every bit of it.
Many of the people were still there from the first time we went and some of them remembered us. They made us feel very welcome and were always friendly and helpful throughout the entire trip.
Yes, it's not the most modern hotel and some parts are a bit dated. However, it was alway clean and well kept. The hotel next door seems quite a bit newer, but it's very crowded and not nearly as relaxing as Alex Beach.
Yes, it's very close to a flight path. Sometimes the planes can be loud. But I'll be honest...I didn't even notice them most of the time. This really is one of those things that if you let it bother you, it will. But it really didn't bother us at all.
One minor complaint I do have is that there isn't a safe in the room. It's located in a room behind the reception desk. It's safe and secure, but not always convenient. But nothing that should change your mind to stay here.
There is also very little outside the hotel. There are a few small restaurants, some car rental shops and a few small markets.
Bring beach shoes to wear into the ocean because the beach is very rocky.
Overall, we enjoyed it and would have absolutely no problem going back.

Excellent hotel, Excellent Staff & a Incredible Holiday!!
Originally my partner and I hadn't planned on staying at Alex Beach but we had a issue with the hotel that we had booked so we grabbed our bags and started searching for a hotel. We stumbled across this hotel and the staff were so helpful and friendly, they found us a room even given the short notice and made our stay unforgettable.
The staff went over and beyond to make sure we had a great stay, even upgrading our room to a sea view at no extra charge!
The food was incredible you get 3 full meals a day with snacks provided throughout the day as well.
I can't recommend this resort enough, it's very peaceful, there are 3 lovely pools and it is situated right on the beach as well.
Would give this more than 5 stars if possible!!!

a typical family hotel just in front of a stony beach, appartments in bungalow-style and main buildung
20 min from airport (noisy !), more noisy from the typical guests: young families with small children, be aware of disabled children wich again might be quite noisy
extremely friendly service, but sometimes incompetent
cheap animation-program, they try to set up a club-athmosphere but it's a little rediculous
possibility for specific child care during day-times
beach: stony, to go into the water better with bathing-shoes; sometimes quite windy and wavy, especially in the summer, sun-beds and umbrellas for free
food: buffet-style for breakfast, lunch, dinner; poor and simple basics, in detail perfectly cooked, but also dishes which went really bad; extremely noisy in the restaurant (see above)
excellent windsurf and kitesurf facilities just in front of the hotel at "surf & kite Theologos"
accomodation: simple furniture in fairly good condition, clean, no bugs, WiFi only at the lobby
surrounding: nothing: gone restaurants, mini-markets and shops, dusty streets, but only 30 min by bus to down town Rhode-City

We booked a 10 day holiday through Thompson TUI. 2 Adults and 2 kids, 7 and 4 years. The photos and description on their website and in their brochure looked good. 4 stars.
We arrived there and was quicky disappointed. Bascially the hotel is very shabby with low standards and many many problems.
What the TUI advertising failed to mention is the hotel lays directly under the flight path of Rhodes airport with super loud planes taking off every few mins from early morning till midnight. I mean the noise was extremely loud you can not speak and have to wait for the plane to pass, not to mention the fumes from the planes. Noise wakes up kids at night. Also the hotel has a gigantic factory next door wich spills out fumes all day which were blown directly over the hotel by the wind. Photos attached.
The food was good and the waiting staff friendly. But the rest of the hotel was dated 80's style. The photos advertised are misleading in my opinion. We paid more for the challet option as opposed to the main hotel. We were put in a single room with a toilet and shower. Some broken things in room like patio door lock, light, plug in bath. Kids had to sleep on a hard sofabed which when unfolded takes up most the room. The room was damp smelling. The drinks were awful and the bar staff very rude with bad service. No option for premium drinks at a price. Just local cheap awful stuff. They have tip boxes at every possible service point throughout the hotel. There is a culture there of no tip, no service. Their tip boxes are made from wood and cardboard, notes scribbled over the front saying why they deserve a good tip.
The hotel's idea of all inclusive drinks in the day is an old moldy drinks machine left out in the sun. The food buffet outside always had flies crawling all over. The staff seemed to think this was acceptable.
The beach is stones and their is a lot of rubbish and old plastic washed up. Evening buffet food was inedible.
Lots of broken and damaged equipment all around the hotel and pools. The kids play room was a joke. Explicit graphiti on the walls. The arcade machines were all very old, around 20 years and not a single one actually worked. 2 pool tables functioned but were old and had the wrong balls. With 2 kids seeing the car racing game powered up, they were excited, but of course it was out of order. So... sorry kids can't play that.. or that machine. Actually none of them! I noticed dangerous things around the place that really highlights their complacency. Ie. Live wires out the back of machines, gas bottles not chained and lying around. These are fully charged high pressure CO2 bottles at 1000s of psi just laying on the ground amongst kids.
Kids club is a run down dirty shed, of which I felt sorry for the Thomsons reps that were actually very good and worked hard to entertain the kids, obviously making do with what they were given to work with. Over all the kids were happy, but as an adult you see these things and end up feeling begrudged after spending thousands of euros on the holiday.
I'm actually not one to complain generally, but in this case I took photos whilst on the trip simply because of the sheer amount of blatant problems.
As for Thomson TUI, I am astonished they still have this hotel on their books. It seems to me they lack any form of checks and measures in this case. I think anyone considering this hotel should know what they are to expect.

Totally shocked at how this hotel is a 4 star, I'm 37 now and had holidays abroad since I was 12, and this hotel has to be the worst I've stayed in.
Yes I did book this hotel, but it was just a quick decision through teletext, so yes it's my fault, but if I haven't enjoyed it. That's why I'm off after 2 days !!! How it's won a certificate I don't know, the rooms are an absolute disgrace for 4star, you can hear every single movement that's made in the hotel. Next door, the upper lever and the road.. It's full of German people which we only knew about when we got there. Pool was scruffy, the drinks were terrible. Didn't even try the food because we were up and out after a day !! Literally, don't go there, they are living in the 80s with there decor, and it's never a 4 star, wouldnt scrape a 2 !!! How they get away with this is beyond me.
Not a hotel for British people , let the Germans have it, I'd hate to see there houses..we were the only 2 Brits there
