We had a really lovely stay at this hotel! Every place is really specific. The food was excellent. Breakfasts are rally perfect! Be specific when you choose the room - each room has it's own unique design.

I have just spent three and a half weeks at the splendid place and I felt extremely comfortable and well looked-after. My room was very spacious, the bathroom was small but good (with heated floor!) and the free wifi was excellent - as it was throughout the building. My bed could have been a little firmer and the shower more powerful, but that would be nit-picking.
Breakfasts were copious and excellent, and the food generally (available 24/7) was very good. (The cheesecakes, available every couple of days on the breakfast buffet, were superb!)
The staff are unfailingly charming and helpful and went out of their way to make me feel at home. They will even light a log fire in the dining room or lounge if you're in for the evening.
The location, just seven minutes walk south of the Mariinsky Theatre, is excellent, unless you insist on being bang in the centre of the bustle of Nevsky Prospekt. It is blessedly quiet.
Alexander House is not luxurious, it is not about spas and gyms and glamour, but it is a rare jewel, and I hope to stay there again if I am in St Petersburg.

We had a lovely stay at Alexander House. The staff were so warm and friendly and welcoming. The food was also excellent - we had a couple meals off their menu, as well as 3 breakfasts. You can choose a hot meal to have with your breakfast, which is a great special benefit compared to other hotel breakfasts. The porridge is delish!
Our room was exquisite, with a little sitting area and a big bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. I highly recommend this place!

My husband and I visited St. Petersburg, Russia and stayed at the Alexander House earlier this month. The room was beautiful and so comfortable, impeccably clean, and the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Marina, the sales associate provided a lot of help. She set up a tour of the city for us, that was great.
Every morning, the two of us enjoyed a breakfast with fish, vegetables, breads, fruit, home made baked sweets, coffee and prepared eggs if we were still hungry!
The dining room was open all night, so several times we had drinks after our adventures in the city. We got acquainted with the waiters and enjoyed learning about them and the St Petersburg.
Everything about this hotel was just perfect. It was within walking distance to the Marriinsky Ballet, which gave us the opportunity to attend a show the night before we left. Additionally it was close to several good restaurants
We highly recommend the Alexander House to anyone who is traveling to St Petersburg, Russia, and we give this hotel a rating of Excellent in every category.

Talking about housing design in the centre of an ancient city of St Petersburg, Alexander House is one of the Building . Going to the place gave me an insight to ancient architectural design in relation to modern one. The place worth visiting
