We stayed here for two nights after multiple days camping at Tayrona and Minca. It was nice to have modern amenities.
Right from being greeted at the door, this hotel had wonderful friendly staff. They were always available and always helpful.
This is a beautiful old place converted to a hotel. Later in the week we stayed in another boutique hotel in Cartagena, and this one’s design was much more in keeping with the age. The other hotel was much more modern design. We prefer this.
We had a beautiful room with the sitting area and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom upstairs via a spiral staircase. It was really unique and we liked the design. Just outside our room was the swimming pool which we didn’t get a chance to use. We did use the Jacuzzi and sun area on the roof. Very nicely done totally private.
There is a nice library where you can sit and read, use the internet, make a coffee or have a drink. Breakfast each morning is very nice with multiple choices, made to order.
My main complaint about this place was that our room had not a single comfortable seat. There were two chairs in the room both wood/leather, with very hard backs and bottoms. There was also a small sofa made of the same material. There was no seat in the bedroom, only the bed. for me, the seating in the library was also not comfortable, although it was a upholstered furniture.
Highly recommend staying here. The location is superb. Just ask about the chairs in your room :-).

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It's a lovely little spot with a lot of charm and character. The staff are so nice and helpful as well. They helped me book a really wonderful excursion to Palenque de San Basilio, the first free town in the Americas, which I later found out is not widely offered. The pick up process was easy and they added the cost to my final bill, which was convenient. They also booked my travel to the airport, prompting me the day before as I hadn't given it thought but they were a step ahead. Highly recommend.

Location in the old town is perfect, easy walking but on a slightly quieter street, Cartagena can be very noisy in the evening. Building full of character and beautifully restored. Our room was huge with sofa, rocking chairs, dining table and kitchen area. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The only tiny let down was that the hot water to the shower could have been a bit hotter, but everything else was so good that it really didn't bother us.

We wanted to see what a small hotel was like in Cartagena, Columbia and we were so happy we chose the Alfiz. The service was spot on and we never had to ask for anything. The full breakfast was a real treat. Fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs and delicious coffee. It was our wedding Anniversary and when we returned to the room there were rose petals everywhere with candles lit. Needless to say it was an evening we will never forget. I liked the large bath tub for soaking after walking for hours. There is also a shower in the bathtub. Initially, I was concerned about being right by the kitchen but our room was quiet and peaceful. The only part I missed was a dresser to put our clothes into. I definitely stay at the Alfiz when we return to Cartegenia.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Alfiz hotel located in the walled city and absolutely loved it! For one the hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained. The staff was incredibly helpful and very kind. The rooms were clean and very comfortable... not loud at all. I especially liked that the hotel offers to book tours where you can pay at the end of the stay on a credit card. We enjoyed the Rosario Island tour and the Chiva Bus Tour very much. Cartagena is an extremely beautiful city and we can't wait to come back!
