The Hotel is conveniently situated if you are en route from the South to Bilbao, as has already been said it's behind a Garage. Although it's in a main road, the double glazing keeps road noise out. The rooms are great.
Our evening meal was adequate and reasonably priced.
Very surprised that breakfast was poor which somewhat spoilt our stay. Only coffee and toast, not much else, no Croissants, Cereals.
Management should consider a set breakfast. Such a let down to an otherwise great hotel.

It is a great place to eat and do a stopover when you are traveling in the northern part of Spain. Great service and the food is exquisite. They have amazing chefs and waiters, nice and cozy rooms, good wines and Spanish food. Very good place to stay if you have children as they will always be entertained because they have a playground and wide playing areas. It is a very safe and relaxing place too and an ideal destination for a weekend getaway.

Cintruenigo sounds a bit obscure, but hotel Alhama really is the perfect pit stop when traveling from Madrid to the North of Spain. The restaurant offers excellent food, good value for money (menu for 13 euro), service is fast and professional and before you know it you're back on the road again.

Situated in a strategic croos road is a nice place to have lunch. Spaniard's eat to plates and dessert but if you want something simpler, try the express menu, one plae, dessert and watter more economical. The staff is very friendly. Food is not fancy but good. Nice pit stop.

This hotel is claimed to be in a rural location but sits immediately behind a petrol station on the main road past Cintruenigo, next to a lorry park and on the edge of housing developments. It looks off-putting from the outside but is actually much better inside than expected. Wi-Fi is claimed to work in all areas but did not in our room. It did however work in reception, but was rather inconvenient, especially when the staff turned out the lights while I was in the middle of booking our next night! Our arrival receptionist was friendly and helpful.
The bedroom had a balcony but no seating. Between us and the noise outside there was a glass double-glazed door, an electrically operated metal shutter, and a double-glazed sliding patio door on the inside. This combination was extremely effective at eliminating external noise, but was defeated by a penetrating, generator-like noise, produced from within the hotel, that rose and fell in pitch during (at least) the latter stages of the night. That said, a cost of €78.10 for dinner, bed and breakfast for 2, was reasonable.
