What People are saying

Just sea and pool..

ENTsinanon 04/08/2015 17:14

Huge place, there is more than enough room for everyone to get sunshine, to swim even in the pool. Our room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Room and bathroom amenities are sufficient. But that's all. Sound isolation was poor; if you have noisy neighbors, it's hard to sleep. The meals were average for both quality and quantity for a five star place. I'll think twice for the next time..

WORST HOTEL!!!

Sonia Mon 29/12/2014 20:16

The most horrible hotel I have ever stayed in. Where to begin.... The staff spoke zero English, none (and I realize I am in Turkey), but we could not communicate at all. The front desk person gave another hotel stayer my friends last name/address which he then stalked her. I stayed in the middle of the floor and got NO sleep. I kept complaining that there was a continuos slamming sound and they told me it was the wind surfers. Took me several days to realize it was the staff stairwell...and as they were flying from floor to floor, it would slam shut. I got a friend to tell them in Turkish to please stop allowing the door to slam throughout the night, but this was never resolved. Lastly, I was charged double for the stay. I booked this through bookings.com who charged me, and the hotel charged me too. I tried to resolve this on my last day there when I got the bill, and no one spoke English that could help me. Bookings.com couldnt resolve this on my behalf either and I had to dispute this with the credit card company.

Very Nice for families with small kids

Svetlanasunnyon 27/09/2014 23:05

We spent few days in May 2014 in Alkoclar Alacati and it was very nice for families.I find it perfect for with small kids who does not look for night life ,but just relax and enjoy. The pools are perfect as there is a very small pool for 1-3 years old kids, also there is a big pool for swimming. The rooms are really big and lovely. We appreciated the kids area where they can play whole day long, also a room with games for the small children.Food was nice, sometimes not enough however vegetarians were happy.:) The only disadvantage is that there is nothing to do after dinner.Yet,the hotel organized a disco last night in our stay so we had some fun.In general was really nice and worth to go.The beach is very close and really nice.Nice sand and beach without stones which I loved much. You can go for a day to Kusadasi for shopping and get back for dinner.:)

This is not a 5* hotel

Utopia1977on 14/09/2014 11:53

(+)Good food, friendly staff. Clean sea to swim, they have a nice swimming dock. Animation team is ok. You need to get a minibus to get to the town centre. Maybe ok for windsurfers and backpackers, but not ideal for 5* hassle-free holiday seekers.

(-)Bathroom is the first hit you get. Not cleaned properly, limescales every where. No bath, just a poor conditioned shower avail. Salty water supplied at taps. No tea/coffee avail in the rooms. No double beds avail. They put two single beds together for couples.

Wonderful, especially with kids

There seems to be a Tripadvisor war going on with loads of slanderous comments here. After having stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks I can tell you it's a fantastic place to stay if you're travelling with children and want the ease of an all-inclusive food and drink arrangement. Staff is very friendly, the hotel is comfortable and clean, the food is great, the location is amazing. This area has not been discovered yet by international tourists and is mainly frequented by Turks on holiday and the (very) odd Polish / Russian visitor.

The rooms are, well, roomy. They are cleaned every day. My only problem was they didn't replace the shampoo and the airco was a bit low powered.

The staff - a small army of cleaners, waiters, barmen, animation / entertainers, mid-level managers - is exceedingly friendly and helpful. Not everyone speaks English, but they do take out the time to try to understand you. The reception is in this aspect the worst, where you do expect them to have an English speaking person on hand somewhere. The entertainment team is active and the volleyball court and dart tournaments are well populated. Some of their shows (Uzay's fire breathing and glass jumping and Turkish night especially!) are fantastic. The entertainment is good quality. The bar staff kept us supplied with beer and raki with a friendly smile. The food is very good quality and different every night, allthough after 2 weeks of the buffet we were happy to eat elsewhere now and again. You are not shy of good restaurants in the area.

The swimming pool, bar and dinner areas are spotless, being cleaned thoroughly at least twice daily. The beach area is swept entirely daily. The water is clean and very comfortable to swim in. My gripe with the pool area is that the Alkoclar concept includes giving the DJ a CD to be played in each area. They can not deviate from this CD. The pool area CD is cheap and annoyingly bad slow knock-off cover songs which really gets to you at some point. Being chained to the pool by a 3 year old kid really made me hate this music.

The hotel is very near Port Alacati, from where all the windsurfing and kiteboarding is done. It's a 3 minute walk to a bay with very good wind and loads of rental places. It also has some high class nightlife: bars, cocktails and dancing. Alacati town itself is lovely with loads of unique artistic shops and restaurants. People wander the streets at night wearing their best clothes (or at least the women do), shopping, drinking and eating. Cesme is pretty close and lovely around the marina area with a very commercial main street selling all kinds of crap a bit further down the harbour. Ilica is a wonderful beach front village in between Alacati and Cesme. Cesme, Ilica and Alacati are all reachable by Dolmus (minibus service) but we rented a car. Parking is usually around 10,- TL for as long as you like.

So all in all, we thought the hotel had great facilities, staff and was located very well. Absolutely great value for money.
