Had a girls weekend in Riverbank cottage. The setting is so beautiful and the house perfect for what we needed But...There was absolutely no hospitality shown.We arrived and left without siting a person. There was no welcome pack with info on house and area or how to operate appliences etc.The fridge wasn't even turned on and no milk for a cuppa after a long trip. Arriving in the evening the fire was not lit or even set for us to light.The wood was damp and we had no kindling. We ended up with no fire on the first night and had to buy kidling in town the next day. The reverse cycle air con seemed not to be working properly and on opening it the filters were absolutley clogged with dust. One of the bedrooms had no light bulbs in the ceiling. There were handles missing from draws and the bathroom window would not shut properly so were not lockable. Just very dissapionting when still charging a premium. Just felt as though they are happy to take your money with little ,to no care for the fact they are in the "hospitality" and thats what they need to do, provide some hospitality!

We had a delightful holiday in this beautiful rustic cottage. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had a wonderful log fire. The setting was stunning with masses of bird life and kangaroos. It was the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, with lovely bush walks all within the confines of Allenvale. Could not recommend this Cottage highly enough, we will be back!

Stayed at Riverbank Cottage and found it all so incredibly gorgeous. The location is something to behold, birds at the back deck, babbling brook at the foot of the property, trees and hydrangeas and space and beautiful changing light. Such a sweet little house with a lovely cottage feel but imbued with a gentle contemporary style. Found the bedrooms to be very tastefully decorated and also very comfortable. Loved the net curtains! Easy access wifi, not far out of town but just far enough, lovely walks to be had along the George river and came away from my stay relaxed and refreshed. Thanks Riverbank, loved it.

Beautiful location and surrounds. However as soon as we got into the Riverbank cottage we were quickly disappointed. The state of the cottage was abysmal.
Our first encounter included the discovery of a toenail on the lounge room floor followed by another toenail in one of the made single beds.
On the first night as we were filling up the bath to bath our toddler we were shocked at the state of the water. It was a dark brown colour. This was not something we felt comfortable allowing our toddler to bath in. We sent a message to clarify where the water was coming from. Although we were informed the water was from the creek and safe to drink this was questionable given the septic tank was overflowing into this same creek. We discovered this after being able to smell sewage from the back deck.
On top of this there were quite a few other issues. The dryer wouldn't turn on. The stove and oven required a match to light as the ignition was broken and the BBQ worked intermittently. There were also rotten floor boards in the bathroom and no safety handrail for the staircase.
We would have appreciated a warning about the water. In relation to the toenails this level of cleanliness is unacceptable. Finally the condition of the facilities does not justify the premium price we paid to stay at this accomodation.

Stayed at riverbank cottage where the septic tank was overflowing and created a lovely smell when on the back deck. The water comes straight from the river and is brown when you fill the bath. On arrival we found toenails on the floor ,the appliances were faulty ,bedrooms are upstairs with no ensuite so you have to negotiate the stairs at night with no handrail to grab hold of when you need the bathroom,very dangerous. There were far to many things wrong with this accomodation and it was expensive,my advice stay right away
