My wife and I booked for our 46th wedding anniversary because we have been to Rio Frio since 1982 but always in a motorhome until this trip because my wife is now semi-disabled. We arrived to check in we had to phone a number to get the janitor to take our details, let me say he was very helpful all the 4 nights we stayed. We had been notified a few days before we arrived that the restaurant was now closed, never mind we could eat in the village just 2 minutes away. We were the only two in the hotel until the last night when another person booked in. Luckily we were given a room very close to reception so fortunately, we could use the internet in our room. Breakfast was meagre and because the lift was not working my wife couldn't get to the bar for breakfast so we had it in our room. The bedroom was big with an adjoining sitting room with just a few spiders resident, (but we are in the campo) hot water was in short supply and the bed linen had definitely seen better days, the swimming pool was closed too but yes it is October. It says 4 star but for us, it seemed far from it maybe they try harder in summer months or weddings. A beautiful setting and lovely views. We went to be near the village Rio Frio if the hostal in town had been open we would have stayed there for old memories sake. All in all, we didn't expect too much from the hotel and didn't get it so maybe we should have gone in summer or they should have perhaps informed us it was almost closed.

I stayed for four nights and was very impressed. The hotel is in the hills and well presented. There is plenty of free parking. Check in was quick and staff speak English and are very helpful. Even down to letting me wash the car off with their hosepipe. The restaurants are open through the day and the terrace has stunning views across the hills. The room was air conditioned and clean. It is in a rural area and access is by car. I didn't see any public transport. Breakfast was good and the restaurant food was very well priced. The area is renowned for hiking, cycling and running trails which are easily accessed from the hotel. The local villages are picturesque. This is an ideal base for anyone wanting to relax and see the area.

If your looking for a quiet peaceful hotel in a rural location with great views over the local countryside this is one for you. We spent two days by the pool and just about had it to ourselves. Staff are friendly and the hotel is only a short walk from Rio Frio

If your looking for peace and beautiful scenery then this is your place. Away from all the tourist attractions. Comfortable bed and good food.
Could do with a few updates. I.e by the pool. But other then that good value for money.

A very attractive low rise hotel, converted from an old Olive Oil Mill, the perfect location for a quiet weekend away. Beautiful, peaceful location, with plenty of in-house activities if wanted (pool, attractive gardens and easy access to village of Riofrio). Service is generally excellent, but food only average, however there are two or three fantastic restaurants in Riofrio village. Rooms are a bit tired, especially bathrooms, but immaculately clean and with great views. Free Wifi only available in public areas (no signal in rooms). Only open during Spring and Summer months.
