I'm a serial traveler and for me Las Casas del Chorro tops the list when I want to escape the trappings of mass tourism.
Fantastic setting for either a bit of R&R or easy to strenuous hiking trails of which there are very many. Each individual accommodation has it's own private deck or balcony so you can drink your glass of wine or cup of tea in complete tranquility or interact with the other guests if you wish. The small bar/restaurant serves simple wholesome food which is very good but if you wish there are several good restaurants locally which compared to the more touristy islands or mainland Spain are very reasonably priced.
I'll be back!
Delightful find

We had almost given up, when another few bends revealed a sign and the domain of Las Casas del Chorro. Lothar was there to welcome us and show us our perfect dwelling with a wonderful view and sun on the terrace almost all day long. Wholesome food and drink was served at night. As it was such a perfect situation we decided to explore on foot locally rather than take the car again and we were rewarded with many beautiful sights and interesting information about the local area in the near-by visitors' centre. We heard the special whistling language , el Silbo, between waiters in the mirador restaurant, used in the past for inhabitants communicating in the mountains. Our only regret was not to be able to stay longer.
A peaceful and beautiful place to stay ... and a charming host

A wonderful location (road to get there is fine - coaches use it!) close to a stunning mirador, the visitors' centre and with easy access to many of the best walks on the Island - this was our 4th visit to La Gomera, but the first stay at Las Casas del Chorro. We 'self-catered' but enjoyed two evenings of 'home cooking'. Breakfast can be taken in the little on site restuarant.
We will be back!
Perfect peace

An absolutely wonderful location to spend a relaxing stay on La Gomera. Gorgeous scenery and ideally situated for great walking tours of the island, and the owners could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We will definitely be back.
A paradise high in the sky

This superb Casa Rural situated beside a reservoir high above Agulo is a jewel in the crown of La Gomera. From location to accommodation to food, wine, tranquility and meandering goat track to Agulo far below, this retreat from the madding crowd merits top marks.
