This Inn gets a very good because of the location. It was beautiful. Not too far from Downtown Boulder, but you felt you were secluded. The inn was built turn of the century. It has the potential to be grand. But it really is in need of work. It is currently on the market and maybe new owners can bring it back to its original grandeur. Our room had a fireplace and access to a hot tub that was not in order. It really was a great place just needs some TLC. The photos show the location of the hotel.

I stayed two nights here while attending a dance seminar in Boulder. Lovely place, spacious rooms and common areas, and very friendly staff. Convenient location, just ~15 minutes to downtown. A little hard to find at night because the mountain road is dark, and the entrance comes up just like that, which is easy to miss.

With its beautiful, rustic lodge/inn-style public areas, friendly staff, and tasty breakfasts, the Inn was a welcome change from a standard hotel room. Breakfast and coffee on the patio? Comfortably creaky floors? L'Occitane shampoo, conditioner, and soap? Chairs and table for reading on the patio behind my room? It was a perfect 3-day stay and I would return in a minute.
There are a few rough edges; it is not a new-build hotel, but that's part of its charm. And what a pleasure to wake up with a view of wooded mountain slopes. For me, the staff's welcome, good humor, and professionalism were faultless. Attentive and helpful, but thankfully not omnipresent. A perfect option for those who enjoy historic properties.

We should have stayed somewhere else for what we paid for here! The hotel might have been at one time a 4 star hotel--now it barely gets a 2 star! The hotel is looking sad, the room walls need paint, the shower head in bathroom needs to be replaced, rug in bathroom was torn, hot tub was out of order, and the outdoor area had no view (even the flowers in the flowerpots were droopy) The traffic from the road in front of hotel is loud so you really cannot enjoy the creek nearby. The breakfast was limited to a french toast with fruit, a quiche with fruit, and granola. No meat of any kind with the breakfast. I know this hotel is in Boulder--but we are not all vegans! For a bed and breakfast, we were disappointed that they didn't have more to offer.

The inn needs a little TLC. That being said, it should not stop you from staying in this beautiful lodge. The rooms are comfortable. The public areas are beautiful! Multiple fireplaces, rustic decor and just feels like home. This is a family run business and they couldn't have been nicer... my husband had a horseback riding accident in RMNP before we checked in and Jeanine was very helpful referring us to a nearby emergency room. We needed some time to lay low after the accident and the inn was just the place. Once my husband was feeling better Jeanine gave us some ideas for dinner and recommended the Celestial Seasonings Tour. We also hiked The Flat Irons. Had a wonderful time. Don't let some negative comments deter you from staying at The Alps Boulder Inn.
