CATS AND DOGS IN RESTAURANT??!!

I appreciate this is a javelin and home. BUT it is marketed as quite high class hotel accommodation. It is therefore such a shame that a pet dog was sniffing my guests legs at the dinner table and barking loudly for a good 2 minutes at a time. This destroyed the atmosphere and frankly reminded me of sleepless nights in Old Delhi due to Dog barking. Then we're the cats. Wild I think? But no excuse not to catch and repatriate outside.
A great shame because otherwise I would rate this hotel 5 stars. But the arrogance of management to think everyone likes cats and dogs is disappointing to say the least.
I’d like to give it slightly more than three stars

Maybe it was that we’d stayed in other really great hotels in India, maybe it was that we are not cut out for “heritage” hotels but we came away from Alsisar Haveli a little underwhelmed. We had to change room three times as our offered rooms were very noisy and the rooms themselves were in the heritage tradition - so few bells and whistles. But they were clean and comfortable.
The food was good (the chicken pitta pockets are excellent) but service was a little hit and miss - with an annoying tendency to hover for a tip after service. (There is a communal tip box in reception which is where I put our tip at the end of our stay.)
So maybe it just didn’t work for us and would appeal to many others, and the central courtyard and pool area are certainly attractive and pleasant places to escape the mayhem of Jaipur.
Intriguing gem of a hotel in the pink city

We stayed for three nights in October 2017.
Arriving at this hotel for check-in at night, we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff and the check-in was swift. We were brought to our rooms which was on the third floor of this beautiful haveli. Our room had a four post bed and what looked like newly renovated bathroom with soak bath tub /with shower. The furniture in the rooms felt reminiscent of the days past. Supposedly there was a hot water curfew (the times where hot water was available were in the morning and evening) however, we had hot water whenever we required even if it was outside the curfew period. Wifi was complimentary and fast. Our room looked down to the pool and the hotel entrance, street noise was not an issue. As our room was on the rooftop of the haveli, we had access to the rooftop veranda that looks towards the Nahagarh fort.
For breakfast and dinner, it was held in the hotel courtyard (outside dining) or in the restaurant. Breakfast buffet had decent selection and an omelette station. They have buffet dinner every night with the a la carte menu having the same dishes from the buffet. Vegetarian choices available. There was also a traditional shadow puppet show in the evening for hotel guests, bring the kids (tips appreciated I think) in the courtyard. The pool was great to escape the heat and the spa/massage was located next to the pool.
Overall a beautiful hotel that somewhat felt like a time capsule of the regal days gone past. An interesting hotel where one could feel like a maharaja in the pink city if only for a few nights.
A Hidden Gem

Anywhere in the world you can stay in common high rised hotels that are all pretty much the same. But only in India can you stay in a heritage haveli and have a real experience like in the Alsisar. The opulence drips off the walls of a bygone era. The dinning room is astonishing. Close to the bazaars of the pink city. The rooms are spacious clean and fitting with the style of the hotel. They don’t have mini refrigerators in the rooms, but I found no need for one as the waiters are at your service from morning until 11pm. The pool area is stunning with mosaic peacocks adorning the walls. It’s a very pretty hotel. It’s not a easy place to find until you enter the gate, so take a business card from the hotel with you to show tuk tuk drivers the address to get back easier. The staff are fantastic, they have a great team working there. If you don’t like stairs ask for a lower floor, the rooftop rooms are a climb. The buffet breakfast is of good quality with ample choices, you can eat inside or outside. There’s a really peaceful ambiance about this place, maybe because it’s still the family’s home not just a hotel.
Lovely heritage property. Pity about hot water

It was a lovely stay at this property. Dinner and breakfast were excellent gaff very polite and friendly. Rooms clean. Tea facilities in room.
It's a pity about the hot water. We reached after 6 hours drive abd needed a good shower. The checkin staff should have informed us that the hot water is switched on on certain hours. By the time we realized the cold shower was done.
The next day, during the hot water hours, we again got cold showers.
We agree for environment friendliness, however, when you sell a property as luxury hotel, hot water is a minimum requirement.
However, we will recommend this hotel.
