We had originally had planned a trip to St. Croix to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, Hurricane Maria damaged the island causing us to change our scheduled vacation destination. We immediately thought of Alsol Del Mar. This was our 3rd visit to this resort. We love this area and the resort. It is very quiet and laid back.
It has only one true restaurant (has a hotel lobby bar and the pool bar/restaurant) with friendly servers and good food. The breakfast is a buffet which has the same type of items every few days and the menu at the pool bar is the same daily. They do a great job of variety for dinners. We were there for 9 days and enjoyed the dinners each night. Dominican night was very tasty.
We stayed in an Ocean Loft facing the pool and ocean. The resort did seem a little more run down than our last visit 3 years ago. However, one thing remained the same.... The friendliest staff you can find anywhere!
A special shout out to Nicol and Woody who are at the pool daily with fun activities for the guests to enjoy. Nicol is a ray of sunshine and we looked forward to seeing her at the pool each and every day. A true sweetie! The same for Woody who provided us laughs during the activities.
So if you are looking for a small resort with great views of the ocean and good food- This is the place for you. It is certainly worth a visit!

This is a quiet yet quaint resort tucked in the southern end of the Punta Cana resort chain. Our studio room was spacious and clean. The floor to ceiling windows provided tons of natural light with a perfect ocean view. Our unit had a washer/dryer en suite which was very convenient considering the amount of sweating we did, we went through a few outfits a day. The all inclusive dinners menus change on a daily basis and I give them a 5 star rating as the food was top notch. The drinks served were quality liquors and tasty. The breakfast and lunch menus are the same each day and they could use some change up a bit in my opinion.
Best of the all, there is a residential dog named Nacho (Nachito) who roams the resort property greeting everyone who passes by.
The employees are very friendly and personable.

Great hotel friendly, very accommodating, food great, pool huge. Downside: sandy beach but plagued with seaweed and a barrier, so shallow. Rooms have the musty Carribean smell. Rained some but still nice and warm. Good time.

I booked a week of teaching vacation (Zumba) at this resort via the website NRG2GO. The resort is great, the staff very friendly, the pool super clean n baby safe. The food was delicious, also the beach is one minute from the hotel. I fully recommend it as your next travel destination.

Beautiful accommodations and Nicol the activity director was terrific (yoga, biking, pool volleyball, board games, biking you name it she made it happen with a smile! ). All the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Gorgeous pool
