This hotel is in a convenient, safe location.Walking distance to Emancipation park. The hotel is clean, the staff is very friendly and courteous and the Jamaican food is very authentic and good. You will be surprised in a good way!

The staff was really nice and helpful. The rooms were nice as well. However, we had to wait a full hour to get our dinners, and more than half an hour for the breakfast. The services at the restaurant can be improved.

I spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Altamont Hotel located in New Kingston. Overall experience was good, the front desk personnel were warm and friendly and mannerable too. It was a big group of us, however we didn't have to wait long to check in. We dined at the Mango tree restaurant at nights - tried the vegetable tofu in coconut sauce, this is very good, not too spicy, just perfect. We had ackee and saltfish for breakfast, nice too. Our waitress was so supa dupa nice to us.

Had to go back to Jamaica for another Funeral 5 months from the time I stayed at the Altamont. "WOW" was I in for a surprise. Room was great, The great staff was excellent. The food was very delicious

From what the locals have said, this hotel is located in New Kingston - which is the business district of the city. My visit was over a 3wk period for work, and I enjoyed this hotel. It is clean, there is a restaurant and bar on site, and the pool is small but fits the hotel size perfectly.
