This child free hotel was so peaceful
Great en suite room
Loads of shady outdoor seating space
wonderful pool
so clean
Very friendly manager
You do need a car to get around - as the main beach is a long walk in the sun - but to be honest you need a car anyway as there is so much to see and do
The art around the hotel is delightful
A return visit to Curacao, 40 years later

We stayed at the Amalia which turned out to be the perfect place to stay. The owner, Haithem will make you feel like royalty. He is extremely knowledgeable about the island and wants to make this vacation the best ever. We returned to the island for a second honeymoon. This is a perfect couples resort. You can go out or stay in. There are wonderful restaurants on Jan Thiel beach. We ate at a Mediterranean one Zest. Five star food but not such good service. Also Haithem makes a great breakfast. Housekeepers are friendly and do an excellent job.
Phenomenal Stay in Curacao

Located in a residential neighborhood near Jan Thiel, Amalia Boutique Hotel and Apartments offers exceptional customer service in a very comfortable setting. Rooms are spacious and the property is very clean. Much thought and effort is made in making guests feel welcome and at home. The management and staff are very friendly, extremely helpful and attentive. Forget about all those overrun and average resorts! Highly recommend this hotel and will make sure to let all my friends know about wonderful Amalia!
Good apartment

Spacious apartments near Jan Thiel in residential area. Well maintained and very good cleaning every day by very friendly house keeping staff. The apartments have a kitchenette which is equipped only very basic. We really missed a bread toaster in the mornings. Try to get an apartment downstairs near pool, because the upper ones have less comfortable chairs and no protection to the wind. Also be aware that privacy is less because the complex is small and the upper apartments share the walkway as balcony.
Wonderful Apartements with everything you need! :)

We spent two weeks in Curacao in Haitham's wonderful "Amalia". Haitham, the owner, really created a wonderful place. The hotel looks wonderful, nice colors, lots of plants and a comfortable lounge. The pool is very clean and big enough too take a short cooling-down in the hot climate of Curacao, and there are comfortable sunbeds too.
The hotelapartements are equiped with whatever you need. The bathroom was always clean, like the rest of the hotel! Amada, the cleaner and her crew are doing a good job! The bedroom has a comfortable bed in it and is equipped with an air conditioner which you will definitely need during the night. The living room/kitchen is a nice room, but you won't spend much time there as it is quite hot AND it is very nice outside!! :) (There is a TV too, and a couch. But we never used it! ;) As Curacao has lots of beautiful places to explore. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook simple meals (pans, plates, cutlery,...), and there is a big fridge with a freezer which were very clean too! Haitham even put free cold boxes in the rooms, so you can take them to the beach to have cold drinks there!
There are tables outside the room which are great to sit and eat, or whatever you like.
Haitham is really helpful and you can ask him whatever you need to know!
The location is the only thing you need to think of! It's not located where you can walk around a lot. So take the great offers from his website! And book a car there too! The cars that Haitham provides for you are really great! We were happy not having any problem and getting a clean car which was in good condition! :) With the car everything is withing small distances to reach. Under 5 mins to the supermarket and the beach! :)
There are some restaurants in the area (maybe a bit over 10), meaning 5 min drive. And Willemstad is 15-20 min by car! There are lots of good restaurants!!! :) Try Kome! ;)
And one more thing which i've never seen in a hotel! There are mosquito nets on all windows! :) So if you keep the main door closed when there are mosquitos outside, you definitely don't need to worry about getting biten by one of them! But still! Think about bringing a mosquito spray to Curacao as outside you will need it!
Thanks again to Haitham and his team!!! :) I really recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to visit Curacao!
