I visited Amalurra for the first time just under a year ago and it was just as welcoming and stunning as it was then. The setting in the mountain retreat is stunning with the autumn colours, resplendent in their vivid colours of red, orange and yellow set against vivid green trees and shrubs.
My room was comfortable, snug and tastefully decorated. There was always plenty of hot water for showers in the en-suite.
I do miss having a kettle in the room though to make my own cups of tea.
All the staff are wonderful and go out of their way to provide you with a comfortable stay, even accommodating different dietary requirements in terms of food and different milks.
I tried a massage this year and it was really welcomed.
If you're looking for some real peace, quiet and restoration, Amalurra is a gem but you will require some transport as it's located about 20-25 minutes from the airport along twisting country/mountain roads.
I attended a course there with a group who attend every year and I look forward to returning again.

I stayed at the Amalurra Hotel for 6 nights in November 2015 when attending a residential training course. Located at the bottom of Mount Kolitza in a scenic valley filled with luchious greenery and spectacular flowers, this is a place to retreat to for some peace and calm, leaving behind the business of every day life.
The rooms in the hotel are beautifully presented with guaranteed views from every room.
The shower was a power shower with plenty of hot water in a room cubicle.
There was a variety of food in the restaurant and the staff accommodated people with different dietary needs and food intolerances.
The reception staff were so welcoming and helpful, along with the staff in the restaurant and the cleaning staff.
I'm going back again nun November for another 6 nights and really looking forward to it.
The taxi journey from the airport is about 50 minutes and costs around £32 and if you plan to simply stay at the hotel for a residential course you won't need a car. There are buses from the village that is about ac10 minute walk away from the hotel. The area is well known for walking and has stunning views!

This hotel, spa and place to come to rest, is ideal to get out of your hectic life get your mind back to what i'll call a good state of mind.
The staff is great, friendly and if your spanish is not that good they will even communicate with hands and feet or ask someone to translate.
The restaurant is very good all the products they use are from there one land or from locale farmers and businesses.
the food is great, and the menu is made per day with what the cook has in the kitchen.
in the surrounding hills you can walk on the tracks made by the workers and farmers who let there cattle graze in the hills and mountains, you can hear them because they all wear bells.
for all this hotel is a place you can come totally to rest.
The entrance road to the hotel is hidden between to houses and if not noticed you drive passed it.
