We had booked another hotel for this evening which is apparently closed so arrived at the Ambassador at 2130 very tired and hungry! The staff were very helpful, we parked in the hotel garage and have a lovely suite.
The restuarant was quiet the food delicious and the maitre de delightful. Excellent food and local wine well priced, looking forward to sleeping in the large comfy bed!

We stayed for 1 night as we where on our way back to Venice.
The hotel is quite central and only 10 mins walk to the lovely square in Udine where you can drink some lovely wines and eat in the tratoria's , similar to tapas.
The room was excellent and very comfortable.

The hotel is just a well kept , standard hotel, clean, very clean, the rooms are spacious and all is fine, nothing stands out, apart from the courtesy of the owner, the staff, they make the difference.
And when you have to choose an hotel, you want to stay in a place where you feel respected and a bit spoiled.
The proximity of the train station and if the city centre is another plus

we spent 1 night at the ambassador palace hotel. the room was a decent size and quiet. it was a bit outdated and average in style, but for simply sleeping there, it was more than ok. the shower was a good size, the room was clean. reception service was very helpful and friendly, breakfast was good (especially for italy....it actually offered more than just brioches, the standard breakfast in italy) and offered a good amount of choices, eggs and all... :-) . all in all a nice hotel to stay a few nights, especially since it is located right in the center of udine (walking distance to everything) and is also close to the train station.

The staff managed to speak german and english, and were very professional and polite. The ambience is of grandeur, though the lift extremely tiny. They do have service to manage your bags though.
The rooms were adequate, if a little small, but with a closed cupboard for your jackets, safe box, mini fridge and sofa.
The heating was adequate, and the bathroom has a shower and bidet. The window in the bathroom is rather difficult to open for airing though.
We had difficulty working with the access card keys, and nearly always in the morning after breakfast, the nice cleaning lady would help us enter.
The breakfast is a rather large spread, and you can order fresh hot drinks always.
