It was a last minute decision to do away and we managed to get the last room at the Amberley. It was on the third floor of the annexe and was comfortable, clean and cosy.
The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly.
Despite the fact there was a big wedding party staying, the service was very good. Nice bar and excellent food in the restaurant. We met a bunch of guys who had been coming to the Amberley for years for the racing at Cheltenham. They loved the place, as did we.

Good location for exploring the area. Amberley itself is worth a quiet amble. Very interesting dry stone walls and 18th century non-comformist architecture. Room at Amberley Inn large and quiet, even at the weekend. A large bathroom. All rooms a bit different due to the age and figuration of the place and the fittings in this room were in need of upgrading. A wardrobe should be put in. Food is excellent. Great breakfasts. Two dinners there were both very well cooked and presented. Worth trying their special gins. All staff – desk, bar, dining and breakfast were helpful, cheerful and added to a very pleasant stay.

Made a casual visit for a bar meal, not disappointed. Food was excellent, good value and service was first class. Good range of beers and overall we were most impressed. Will return to this hostelry soon.

Only stayed one night to visit Family. We arrived and were welcomed and shown to our room. This was an attic room which was a little disappointing having to wind our way up three floors in the annex building. However saying that the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was very good.
we would stay again although try for a premium room

We arrived just as the storm arrived, a former hurricane, no less! The swinging sign squeaked and creaked it's welcome to a haven of calm. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was as warm as the welcome and a welcome retreat from the worst that mother nature was throwing at us that night. The food, the wine, the service were all second to none and we enjoyed a convivial evening in the bar accompanied by our little dog and the sights, sounds and smells of the archetypical Cotswold open log fire. Would we go back? Just try to stop us!
