A strange sweet smell as you walk into the reception .... The same smell in the room ... The whole area around the motel covered by cigarette butts.... Gloomy staff that pays no attention to your requests... Boys in hoodies smoking on the stairs and not answering your hello .... Police cars in the night ... Br-r-r-r....
The most unpleasant thing though, was that despite what they indicate, this motel DOES NOT HAVE WI-FI. In my case the Wii-Fi was important, and this was one of the reasons I chose this place. When I raised this issue with the staff, their answer was "Somebody has turned off the router. I will turn it on now". However turning on the router did not have any effect, apparently. Eventually I put this to the manager. His answer was "Internet is free in this hotel, hence I am not going to compensate for it". Thanks Lord, the beds are not free --- otherwise there would be no beds there.

For my first stay in Cortez, CO., I found myself staying at the American Holiday Mesa Verde Inn and could not have been happier. First and foremost, we were greeted by a very helpful and incredibly sweet girl who was so cool. We had long drive and arrived very tired and we could not have been welcomed any better.
This place is great. It offers such great cool accommodations like a fitness room, large guest laundry and even large seasonal pool that is solar heated. The rooms are incredibly large and spacious and come with a microwave and refrigerator. The next time you find yourself in Cortez, CO., do yourself a favor and stay at the American Holiday Mesa Verde Inn.

Very concerned about safety at this place. Looked like a bunch of tweekers stay here. Room had stains on carpet and walls. There was hair on the pillow cases and sheets. The tv would repeatedly go black. Could hear people outside all hours of night. I guess you get what you pay for. Would definitely not stay here again. We left at 5am just to get out of there as soon as possible.

The hotel room was very dirty. We found hair within the towels and bunches of hair in the bathroom. The smoke detector was removed and only half of the lights above the bed were working. Garbidge cans were not emptied each day. The ventilator in the bathroom was full of fungi. For a 2 night stay shampoo was provided only for 1 night. The area is scary and the police patrols over the terrain at night.

We got stuck in the Cortez area for the night and this was the only available room. I wasn't expecting much from a $65 per night motel, but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms smelled good, the bed was comfortable, the linens were clean and the shower was delightful. I'd stay here again if I had to.
