On our way to Georgia I made a reservation here and we were a late check in (after 9:30pm). The front desk folks that checked us in were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and the beds were actually comfortable...along with the pillows. The gentlemen that assisted with check in knew we were leaving early and told me that coffee and breakfast would be ready before 6:00am if we wanted some before hitting the road, very nice of him to tell me because it was easy to grab something and go. I will definitely add this to my top 5 places to stay next trip back to Georgia.

It's a good place: right off the freeway, close to places to eat, but still with plenty of green space around it. It's an older building ('70s? '80s?), but has all the amenities of newer properties, with a lower rate. The one thing that was difficult: the stairs to the second floor. My father was with us and has walking issues; the main stairs were a little narrow and steep for him (and me - they're not sized like most stairs), but the ones in the center of the building worked. The primary reason we stayed there? They accept dogs. Mine had a ball. And, to top it all off, the service was good.

On July 16, 2017 my wife and I stayed at this location. We were assigned
room 229. Upon entering the room we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. We ordered pizza and watched TV for a while before my wife showered and went to bed.I stayed up and watched TV for about half an hour before showering. After my shower I pulled back the bedding to get in bed and something fell and landed on my foot. This woke my wife up and I told her I thought something on the bed broke. I reached down to see what it was and picked up a FULLY LOADED 9mm handgun ! I called the Abingdon police department and they came to our room, did a report and took the weapon. There was also an empty magnetic stash box underneath the bed. I called the front desk and reported what had happened before the police arrived. The woman at the front desk was very apologetic and moved us to a different room (230). I asked her how housekeeping could have stripped the old bedding off and put clean linens on without finding a loaded handgun and she didn't have an answer. This situation could have turned out much worse had someone been traveling with children and one of them had found the handgun. Its impossible to change the bedding and not find a handgun so I know my wife was sleeping on dirty sheets. They did comp our room but after emailing Red Roof corporate office and receiving no response I called their customer support line. They said they couldn't find any record of us staying there. I was able to give them the police report number and they are checking into this. At least that's what they said. PLEASE check your rooms when traveling with children. This story could have had much more tragic outcome had the wrong person found this handgun
Very nice place to stay!!

Stayed here for the Bristol NHRA races. It was very nice, clean and no trouble to find at all. Not noisy or any problems I seen. Could use some cosmetic updates but very nice. Not a lot of great viewing area but nice. While we were out, house keeping cleaned really good and restocked our needs.
Good customer service

Which is always most important in booking a reservation. This is the first time my fellow man, our CCC * and I have stayed at this chain.
We were most pleased with our reservationists as I always call the hotel directly. And upon arrival we were met with gracious efficiency and directed to our room. The hotel is a cheery orange-y color and show signs of recent paining and updating. Our room was clean and neat and pleasant, and quiet, and they have outside doors which we prefer.
If you're into luxury linens, this won't be your hotel. But we found it just suited us fine. We will surely sty there again. Pet fee is reasonable ($15) at this writing, and if you are fortunate enough to get the back building there's lots of room for your pet to play after a day on the road.
