This was the worst place I have ever stayed at. It started with not being able to open our room door with the key provided (were instructed to lift the handle the other way which still did not work requiring management to open it for us). No safety lock from the inside of the room to the outside (bolts in place on the door but no place to bolt on the frame). Pulled back the sheet to see roaches scurrying across the bed. Baby roaches in the bathroom. Shower curtain stained and moldy. Water in bathtub slow to go down after taking shower (shin high), toilet flushing questionable (water would rise to top and then slowly go down). Drug deal witnessed in the parking lot on the night we checked in and early morning when we shook out our belongings and ran out! Went to Walmart to purchase raid and traps to spray our room as we slept with the lights on and bought large garbage bags to place our belongings in. We also bought pillow cases, towels and bedding at Walmart so that we would not use any of the filthly once provided. No other hotel available during family weekend at SIU...Horrible experience! Dirty and disgusting! TV did not work. Walking by the rooms on our way to the office saw into a room that looked as if someone was living in there for a long time (hoarder) with belongings stacked up ceiling high (most likely where the roaches breed). Luckily was able to find another hotel the second night of our stay..when telling the front desk person that we would not be staying the second night of our reservation, she did not question it but let us know how to receive the refund since we had prepaid through a travel website.

Upon arrival; room not ready, smoke detector beeping for over 2 hours, room in general rode hard and put away wet, no refrigerator as advertised, bed absolutely useless. We called it a taco, old and saggy., 3 pillows when stacked might make a decent pillow, stained wash cloths and towels Young man very pleasant but the lady act8ng in charge could use a lesson in hospitality. Went for eclipsse, paid $225 for a room not worth $35. If I had known, we would rather sleep in the car. Please, do not waste your time or money.

This is not where I would recommend if you have a family & need to stay for the night..... as I pulled up there were 5 guys at the end of the row of motel doors that had the furniture from the room outside smoking & drinking.... this was 1 in the afternoon..... it is a very low budget motel , great for transients or a cheap 1 night ... the room was fairly clean but the property was run down.... I felt uncomfortable leaving my truck & trailer parked for the night..... im sure its fine ...but not for me.....

I'd rather sleep outside in the winter than stay in this hotel. First they tripled the room rate because of SIU graduation, so my room was $170... After driving 5 hours from Chicago, I was expecting to relax and have a good night sleep(SO WRONG). When I get to my room, which check in was 3 and I got there at 10, the maintenance man coming out my room saying that they had a problem with the lock on the door(you had 7 extra hours to fix this..WTF) when I get in my room, clearly they didn't vacuum the floor and I start to look around and look up at the ceiling and saw the biggest spider I have even seen. I look to my right and I see another. I check out the lennon on the bed and there were specks of blood on them.. I call front desk and the clerk comes up and just stares at the spiders, didn't try to kill them or anything, just stood there... I'm asking are you going to do anything? NOTHING! Then they try to give me another room( smoking room) I DONT SMOKE!!!! So that's not happening!!! More to the story but don't even think to stay in this place..... you will be very disappointed!!!

My daughter and I stayed here the night before my wedding. The room was clean and the lobby clerk was nice. I feel the room rate was a bit more expensive than it should have been as the hotel is in dire need of updating however it did serve its purpose.
