You get what you pay for

The hotel is old and the paint is peeling from the walls and the towels are probably the ones they originally purchased for the hotel because they feel like sand paper on your skin. The breakfast had absolutely no protien unless you want to count the milk on you cereal. Also, the only hot items were toast and waffles. The only redeeming qualities were the staff who truly seemed concerned with all our needs and managed to fulfill them without any delays or problems.
Not my cup of tea

The hotel is pretty run down, not very clean. Furniture in the room was very dirty. Breakfast was sad.
On the plus side the staff were great. I get there late, around 10 pm. The front desk clerk called ma on my cell around 9 pm to check on me which was a nice touch.
I only stayed 1 night and was alone so, for the money, I tolerated it.

I came up to NC for a church conference with my friend and we didn't really know where we were going to stay because the hotels we preferred were booked up and then we found The Best America Value Inn and we came and met Paul. Paul was at the front desk and he pulled up our reservation we made on Expedia and we ended up cancelling the Expedia reservation because Paul presented us with a better deal and he was so patient with helping us call the travel agency to cancel. He made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. His hospitality made it easier for my self as well as my friend to feel at home in an unfamiliar place. When ever I come up to Shelby, NC I'll be sure to stay here and talk to Paul.
Great Place

We enjoyed our visit to Shelby for the American Legion World Series. Could not have asked for a better place to stay than Americas Best Value in. The rooms were clean and the staff was great. Would recommend to all

Thanksgiving day, I made a reservation for a non-smoking room. We showed up at midnight to check into our room. After going into the room, I immediately noticed a cigarette smell. I called the front desk and explained that I had reserved a non-smoking room. The clerk responded, "Oh, someone must have been smoking in there." No, kidding Sherlock, 'that's what I just told you. Anyway, he continued, "there's nothing I can do". I said, "nothing you can do. I made a reservation for a non-smoking room and that's what I expect." He repeated that there was nothing he could do at least twice more. Then I responded, "Well, who do I need to speak with regarding a discount because of this stinking room you put me in?" Then he miraculously found another available room. After checking into that room, I noticed that not only did is smell like cigarettes, but the bathroom was also dirty. Someone had thrown up next to the toilet and the remnants were still on the wall next to the toilet. It was past midnight and I was dead tired. Did I mention the brownish colored bath towels, the filthy chair in the room and the spots on the sheets? AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
