Bike trip stop

We stayed here on our biking trip from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C. and saw several other bikers were here also. It is fairly close to the C & O towpath. This place was rather quaint, & a little outdated, but really not bad when you consider three of us stayed in a room for only $65. They were kind enough to let us store bikes in their garage. It was no frills, but the beds were comfortable & clean. We had dinner & breakfast at a great local diner across the road, the Potomac River Grill. The free breakfast was not enough for us with a full day of biking ahead.
Motel close to C&O Canal Towpath

This motel is very convenient to the C&O Canal Towpath. Yes it is a little dated but then you can't beat the price. The room was clean and spacious and the WiFi worked well if you were outside the room. The fact that a very nice inexpensive local restaurant is also right across the street makes this a great stop for those cycling on a through route from Pittsburgh to Washington. The toilet in the flower bed in the center made for a good laugh too.
old motel but clean and spacious

Old charming roadside motel dated from the 50's located on a hillside just off the C&O Canal towpath bike trail. It is spacious and clean, run by a Russian family. The room is quiet and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is just cereals ,bread and jam. Very basic.
I tried the restaurant across the street, food was OK, but the service sucks. Unless you are the locals.
Don't be fooled by the name

The name "America's Best Value" made me think this place was part of a reputable chain. It is simply a "mom and pop" motel, old and dirty. The "office" is an extension of their home. Many cats in the lobby. Room smelled strongly musty. Carpet needed cleaning. Old old old decor and upholstered chairs lining the porches that have been exposed to weather. Breakfast is goods bought from a store and set out. Not a good experience, although cheap.
Outdated hotel, dirty, great location right off highway

I understand to have low expectations for a pretty cheap hotel. So the rate is good, location is great right where I-70 and I-68 meet. But this hotel is obviously very old (still has CRT TVs) and not in good condition -- noticeably dirty everywhere, including a very stained shower curtain. I understand that some other things are harder to clean and replace but a shower curtain in just a few bucks. Throw it away and buy a new one !
Anyway, past that, the hotel was mostly empty but I was placed in a room next to a barking dog (and no owner). That's not the management's fault, but the walls were pretty thin and given all the empty rooms not sure why I was placed there. The aforementioned CRT TV did not rotate around enough that you could even see it from the bedroom, and the next morning when I got up there was literally NOTHING left in the breakfast area (and I arrived at 9am, way before it supposedly stops being available).
The same kid checked me in and out, he was polite and efficient, but overall, I will not be staying again here. It's a little over an hour to DC, so I booked it to cut my driving short on my way there, next time I'll just keep going.
