The best location and friendly staff

We stayed at this hotel despite not so good reviews. By now after traveling for long time and particularly often Houston ignored the reviews. The hotel front desk staff was very helpful and explained several different types of rooms available. The hotel is under major improvement and you can't find a suite for a price of a single bad room. If you are looking luxury and newly built hotel than you are at wrong place. This suites are like a condo with large refrigerator, stove, kitchen and tv. The hotel is well known for the extended stay and many rooms are rented for weekly or monthly basis.
According to staff and some guest the hotel is going thru major renovation and soon many rooms will be renovated. The hotel is near airport and all major attraction. We had no problems with parking, which was free. The hotel offered in the morning coffee and tea. If you are seeking short term stay with all home facility and small budget than this is your hotel.
Avoid at all costs

American Airlines put us up here after our flight was cancelled. This is an old school motel style place with doors that open directly onto the breezeway (no inside hallway). There seemed to be a lot of permanent residents here. The room was really bad. Bathroom fixtures were broken and rusty. The room had tile throughout and it was slippery/greasy. The front door didn't lock properly. The furniture was coming apart. The kitchenette looked to be about 30 years old. People were standing outside our front door in the breezeway talking loudly, smoking and arguing. Enough said.
Just Don't

I booked this hotel through Booking.com as a last minute rush and only read the reviews there. My mistake. My room has paint pealing off the walls, the phone has dirt and scum stuck on it and the tub is disgusting. I arrived tired and a little frazzled from traveling so thought that maybe my initial reaction was a little harsh but going out to get water and a bag of chips for dinner - no restaurants within walking distance - my opinion has not changed at all. The hotel might have been a nice place way back when but it's very run down. Girl at the front desk has been very nice and helpful since I arrived. VERY IMPORTANT - in my opinion, being that it's about 40 minutes and $40 from the airport, if you take the taxi driver I had. All in all a very big disappointment.
Not by choice

So, how can I put this, Don't stay here. Thanks to United Airlines mistake we were sent here, I would never spend good money on a place like this, but UA gave us a voucher.
Carpet sticky, Most of the stuff in the room was broke, there was lots of hair in the shower, but it was not mine, the alarm clock was so nasty I had to wash my hands after I set it, There was no cups in the room, the TV did not work, I will say the sheets were clean, and back in 1994 when the pillows were new, I am sure they were nice.
Roger at the Desk was Friendly, Lobby was really nice. but if I would have had a car, I would have slept in it instead of the room.
Friends were traveling with me, it was much of them same in there, they slept in their cloths. their tv worked though.
If I am ever stuck in Houston in the Airport again and they want to stick me there. I will sleep in the airport instead.
Worst hotel ever

Noisy and dirty. I was not able to sleep. I used the towels only because I had too, but they were just nasty, with stains smoking smell, even when I was in a non-smoking room. The mattress (the sides were exposed, as well as the box spring) had some stains that looked like blood. Is it not possible to find something decent for 50 bucks? Maybe. My mistake!
