What People are saying

Old feel

SindiMc on 24/07/2017 03:45

The small town of Williams is located 50 miles south of the Grand Canyon and a great place to stay when in the area. Lots of funky businesses, eateries and motel/hotels. Many with the old town charm. Norris Inn is right on historical Route 66. It was clean and if you don't mind it being less modern it's fine. We just wanted a place that was clean and close to our travel route, it fit the bill. The bed was fine and it did have a microwave and fridge. What we would have liked better was a taller toilet and the shower to have a little stronger water flow. We did like that our car was right outside our door and it was quiet. I enjoyed the older charm and still would recommend. Visit the town when there, it's pretty cool.

OK For One Night

A little out of the main town but was ok for one night. It could do with a bit of updating to be honest. We thought that the TV was broken as was a lamp on one side of the room....only to discover(about 20 minutes before we were due to leave) that you had to turn on a special switch by the door!! It made us laugh anyway.

It's not as terrible as people are saying.

We had to book rooms a week before the Rodeo. The town was pretty full but I found this hotel for $58/night for my wife and I. It's called the Norris Inn. No idea why all the websites have the wrong name.

With low expectations we checked in. Guess what, it's a cheap hotel...what do you expect? The room was clean, despite the outside being a bit scruffy, the room had recent paint. We had no issues with anything working. The shower had great water pressure, the AC unit cooled the room and the heater warmed it up in the morning.

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels from luxury resort suites to cheap crummy hotels and this was nowhere near the worst hotel I ever stayed in and was totally adequate for only $58/night.

One telling thing about the challenges of running a cheap hotel were the little signs like "please don't use the towels to clean your windshield or wash your car." or "undeclared pets will incur a $100 charge." I suspect some of the people posting negative reviews were the ones trying to scam the owner.

If you are looking for a really nice room as part of your great vacation, what the heck are you looking at hotels like this for? If you need a cheap place to stay, this one is perfectly fine.

A Quiet Place to Stay

travelwriter52 on 06/06/2017 05:28

Route 66 can be pretty noisy with all of the businesses. Also it is across the street from a railroad,so that can occasionally be a bit noisy. But surprisingly, I found it fairly quiet. There are very few businesses at this end of the street. Close to all Williams has to offer. Have stayed there twice. Run by a mom and pop. Rooms are a bit old, but comfortable.

Overpriced low-quality

One week before planning our trip to Williams I discovered on line that accommodations were quite limited.....few vacancies. One motel with pet accommodations was available.........America's "BEST" Value Inn. For the type motel this is, the price was way too high. I guess they were taking advantage of the limited room availability in the town that weekend. The two room keys would not work. A staff member had to come and work on the door lock..........finally got ONE key to work.

The door, which was an outside door, had an opening under it large enough for an unfriendly, unwelcome creature to enter the room......thankfully we saw none. The door did not have a safety chain or latch. However, the room was clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. There was barely enough room in front of the room to park our pickup truck. My wife and I do not plan to ever stay here again. Oh yes.......there is NO breakfast at this motel. We paid over $100 including a $15 pet fee......and NO breakfast.
