I stayed at the Americinn for business. The room was quiet and comfortable. It was quiet so I got a good night's rest. The breakfast was adequate and the staff was accomodating. I would stay in this motel again if in the area.

The price is reasonable, especially considering the costs of the major hotels in the city of Fairmont about 20 minutes west. Clean, comfortable rooms, ours had doors that opened between, which is helpful for families. Satisfactory hot and cold breakfast.

I was on business and staying few days in town. I had limited options to stay so I picked AmericanInn as the I have stayed at the chain hotels before and have been very satisfied in the past. The lobby was just as I expected neat and kept. The young lady checking me in was very frustrated as her computer kept crashing an she could not perform her job. I finally checked in and went to my room. It seamed it was a newer remodel but only they did not finish it. The shower head was bad and sprayed all around me so I did not get wet, the toilet paper holder was all rusty and so was the ceiling tile frame. Above the shower the wall was pealing and looked wet. I also had a high smell of suspected microbial growth throughout the room. The pillows were flat and not comfortable. The hot tub was no longer available as I was told the manager had it filled in due to costly repairs. Not a good idea as that is one reason I stay at a hotel. I also discovered that the manager was also the maintenance man. Well lets just say that the regular maintenance needs to be addressed as well. When I discussed the issues with the front desk, no one seamed surprised at my claims and displeasure. The bottom line, I would not recommend this hotel due to the managers lack of judgement and leaving his team members high and dry.

I really wanted to like this hotel as we like the chain. Quiet? Very. Room was updated nicely and fairly recently. Bedding was decent, although, I'm not sure why the pillows are shorter than normal?
As we came into the hotel property, we observed the message signage was very dirty, reducing visibility in areas, as well as a dusty, moldy fan behind the front desk in view of travelers. This should've been a warning sign.
We stayed in a handicapped accessible room (1st floor) and there was a mold problem in the shower. There is obviously an ongoing moisture problem, as the metal toilet paper holder was corroding.
During the night, we also noticed a distinct mold smell when the A/C was blowing. Dirty filter and fins?
Unfortunately, we didn't notice the bathroom or moldy smell issues until we were ready for bed and too tired to get dressed to go ask for a different room, and we had booked through a third party, so we knew we couldn't get our money back on this stay.
Disappointed!

Very comfortable beds, Internet seemed slow, but I only wanted to let family know that we had arrived, Enjoyed the "Welcome" Bag and bottles of water given to us. Definitely will stay again, we enjoyed our stay before this one, and will enjoy another, I'm certain.
