We showed up at the hotel without a reservation and Voncile went out of her way to make sure we got a room. We were on pur honeymoon. When we arrived at the room we had champagne a gift basket and chocolates.

We took my husband's son, daughter and son-in-law to St. Louis for a few days to celebrate and show him why his dad and I love going down there. Since we had completely rooms from 3 casinos we decided to save a little money and use them! We put the kids up in their own rooms at Lumiere and my husband and I took the better Hotel and casino and stayed at Ameristar!!! This is my favorite hotel in the St. Louis area, We got the Kids checked in and we went to Ameristar and checked in. The room was clean and it was so nice to have room to have some laughs with the kids in the living room area as we were deciding what restaurant downstairs we wanted to eat at. We decided on the buffet, I have always loved this buffet but it was lacking this time. The quality was gone, the grill ( hibachi style) was down right horrible! Tasted like burnt grill, the food was not burnt so it has to be the grill! Nobody at the carving station and it wasn't even 6pm yet! All of the deserts we tried tasted like they came frozen very disappointed and not sure I will try that again!
After dinner we went and gambled for a couple hours and it was busy so we decided to utilize the pool. My husband stopped at the check in to make sure we could take the whole family and they so gracious and all smiles! Great staff!!! We all really enjoyed our time in the hot tub. My husband wouldn't walk around or swim over to the outdoor hot tub but the kids and I did and it really gave me bonding time. Thank you Ameristar for this opportunity,

First time we have stayed here and will come again when we have the chance. There was a living room (2 steps down) and a bedroom so it was very spacious & we got a river view. Rooms were very clean & I got my extra coffee when I asked for it!
Spent some time at the beautiful indoor/outdoor pool. It was a rather cool day but I still had to swim outside just to say I did it. The hot tub was large & so relaxing.
Very large casino with slot machines I had never seen before which I enjoyed. High ceilings so not as smokey as I thought it would be.
A very positive & fun experience at this Ameristar!!

If you stay here please ask for a view of the river!! Absolutely stunning!! The room I stayed in was amazing. There is a little 2 step down alcove area to a little sitting room with desk, sofa and TV, double sinks, bath and shower. Incredible luxury for a NON luxury price.
My only one small criticism is that when I went to check in there were 5 staff members standing behind the counter. Only 2 were assisting with check in, the other 3 were doing something on their computers. There was a line in front of me of 2 other guests and 2 guests were being assisted. During my wait I watched 2 of the staff members behind the desk walk off without assisting guests that left 2 people assisting and one on her computer. I waited for almost 15 minutes in line finally the group in front of me finished their check in and I was next but the staff member assisting them walked off so now this left one person assisting and one person just on her computer. After another couple of minutes the person assisting guest said out loud, this is my last one. Only then did the lady who was doing stuff on her Computer offer to check me in. I was taught in retail that if there was ever a customer you put aside what you are doing and assist the customer first. This person clearly had the skills and the computer system to check me in she should have stopped what she was doing. Only a small problem in the grand scheme of things really because the rest of my stay was awesome but just some feedback for customer service

This place has it all! Really enjoyed the number of things that you can do while there. Fromfrom the meetings in the conference center to a night out with live music or the best DJs around in the night club. The food choices and offerings were exceptional. What made the visit even more fun was the pool and spa coupled with the spacious rooms.
