Hotel rooms were large and nice as well as bedding. However, we arranged for a crib but it was broken and had barf in it. The 2nd once requested was new but not assembled so once they put it together it was great. Funny thing is the front desk guy said there were no cribs but we had arranged for q ahead of time. Since we insisted, he went back to check and apologized.
Last time we were there, we had 1 security guard tell us to stay on the path to get starbucks or eat at the buffet with our infant, while another guy kicked us out. When we checked in, the NEW policy is the entire area is off limits (can't even get to the buffet!) And we were restricted to only 1 location...so we left the hotel to dine at other places (it's the hotel's loss).

Great little town in the mountains for gambling and gambling only. Stayed here and enjoyed the hotel and pool area. If your looking for anything else, food, alcohol, or a store you ate sheet out of luck and bring your own liquor before driving out there. The one “liquor store” is out of the way and difficult to find on top of over priced

Ameristar is usually the top casino/hotel in Blackhawk. The circular bar, which is more or less the epicenter, is entirely shut down, making the casino shabby, much like the velveteen rabbit, in its later years. The manager is not sympathetic, and believes it's not her problem that we paid top dollar, for multiple rooms, for an inferior product. Thank you Ameristar manager, for providing an inferior experience. We will not stay here again in the future as there are other options less pricey, who care about their customer's experience.

Wife and I stayed 3 nights; room was nice; all amenities (tv, air, coffee, fridg) worked fine. After night 2, we went to Breckinridge for the day; we were gone from 9am till 9:30 pm. When we returned, the door to the room was propped open by the inside security latch/swivel bar - OUR ROOM WAS WIDE OPEN FOR TWELVE HOURS!! I called the front desk (but connected to housekeeping); I was advised that they would look at security video. The next morning at the front desk - there had been no incident reported. I filled out a report and voiced my significant concern (note - we did not find that any of our luggage or personal property had been taken or disturbed). The desk manager was very gracious (and very embarrassed); she said she would follow up and she comped our last night (the other 2 were already comped). We put our valuables in our car trunk that last day out of caution and concern.
We were never advised of the results, if any of their investigation into the incident. If not for this security breach - I prob would have given a 4 on the review. BUT, this was a definite and significant screw up by the hotel (and failure to properly report it too).

Hotel is very upscale feeling but friendly and in a great location! Beautiful drive nestled in the Rocky mountains. Just a little over an hour to Rocky Mountain state park and Boulder. Restaurant is great. Casino was easy going and nicely laid out.
