I think it has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever had the misfortune of staying at!! It was shabby and lacking any appeal from the outside so what we met with on the inside could only be expected!
The reception area was basic and receptionist a little dull and not bothered. We had luggage so used the lift which to me was unsafe. Our room was on 2nd floor, it was small and basic with small toilet/shower room, where I discovered the towels were all smeared with make-up from the previous guest. The bedroom floor was sloping towards the bed from the bathroom which almost catapulted me into my bed every time I exited the shower room! There is no kettle in the room which was a bit disappointing. It was clean but not as clean as it could have been.
The domestic staff were very friendly and tried their best to make the room feel clean although the bed spread smelled heavily of BO!
It wasn't very cheap for what you get at €57 pn/pp.

A complete SCAM!!! Nothing like the photos the "hotel" uses to attract it's guests and much like the ones uploaded by the victims of this hell. The place was filthy from top to bottom. Stains all over the place, and I mean walls, carpets, doors, you name it. It smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in years!!! The elevator is a complete death trap. The first thing you notice upon entering your room is the filth you feel. The sensation that the place is fill with all types of bugs slaps your face right at the room's entrance.
First thing I did after entering the room was to pray to the Lord Almighty and the Lord answered immediately that I was on my own in that God forsaken place!!! I left my backpack on a chair, no way it was going to touch the bed, and checked the "bathroom". And what was waiting for me? A pair of boxes hanging on the showers curtain's bar. I run on the rescue of my brother and he told he had found cigarette butts on the floor!!! At ten o'clock, and after a flight of two hours and having to pick another flight at six o'clock in the morning, I left in search for another hotel. I checked eight before finding one that had available rooms. No way we were staying in this "hotel"!
When leaving this "hotel", I wanted to report a complain and requested the hotel's letter of claim, or any another form of hotel service complaint letter or form, to do so. The receptionist handed me with a blank sheet of paper with the hotels name and told me that I could write the complain on it and that he would then stamp and sign it. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded much doing so if it were a third or fourth world country, but PARIS?
Final note, we were charged 50 euros each, two rooms were booked for us. For this filth! Now, if you are comfortable paying any amount of money for filth, bugs of whatever sort, death traps and possible knife fights in the middle of the hall way, well this is the best place for you. Else, keep your money.

Hotel is old and basic and unfortunately smells of smoke in the passages.
There is no free wifi in rooms only reception, they had constant issues with the internet.
Rooms were clean but we had bedbugs. Severe reaction when we came home.
Central to bus routes, metro and station
The night and day staff were very friendly and helpfull.
We stayed in Room 20.
Could hear the people in the room above us at night - very embarrasing when you have children with you.

We choosed this hotel because the location in front of Gare De L'est..we have to catched up the train very early in the morning.
Another surprise is, this hotel exactly in front of metro station.
Staff very friendly.
Bathroom is big enough depends another hotel we stayed in paris.

After booking, I browsed through some critical reviews so we were really worried about the hotel as it was our first stop for 14 days of European vacation. But to total surprise, it was totally worth. It has congested lobby so may be other rooms won't be convenient, thus those negative reviews. Rooms on top floor are really special and full of light & air. Best thing is, we could see Eiffel from our balcony. :) Just at Gare du l'est station, you can catch bus, train, metro everything as soon as you step out of the hotel. Only thing that is misses is, they don't have internet at all. It may work in reception area but not in the rooms. If they had good internet I would have given 5/5. Recommended for budget trip, with friends, or quick stay and access to city. Not recommended for those looking for romantic stay or honeymoon couple types.
