726Francoison 08/09/2017 01:28Only a 15 minute walk from the centre, or take the bus! Very quiet neighborhood and very helpfull family. Yuja from Mexico was the super cook in the family and can make a fantastic breakfast with homemade yogurt and pancakes, with frozen blueberries on top delicious! I fully recommand this B & B.
Nice and Comfy
Alice_Lusinaon 13/08/2017 03:21We stayed in this B&B for a few nights during our trip around Alaksa, we found it clean and comfortable, breakfasts was good and we also got a breakfast to-go when we had to leave early, we really appreciated this.
Room was a bit small and the bathroom was outside of the room (we weren't sure if it was our private bathroom), we kind of expected it inside since we bookend a room with a bathroom but we had a great time and this was not even bothering us at the end, I can say good value for money.
Piano Room Perfect for Family
TNorangebloodon 06/08/2017 19:29As we traveled thru Alaska, we had one evening in Anchorage. We are a family of 5 (3 college aged kids). Scott greeted us and was helpful in developing a dinner meal plan which included using the bikes that they provide rather than us driving further after a long day in the car. It was perfect! We found out the next day how difficult it is to drive and park in Anchorage. Glad this B&B is close by and the bikes were great. We took the bike trail he suggested so that we enjoyed some of the tide rolling out along the way. Breakfast with home made yogurt, rhubarb preserves and mango salsa was just what we needed to start the day. Scott's wife (ugh I have forgotten her name) was not only a lovely host but a fabulous chef!
Perfect B&B
mlsn0won 13/07/2017 04:40My husband and I stayed here for two nights in July and loved it. Quiet neighborhood, and our room was very comfortable and clean. Also, we really enjoyed both breakfasts, especially the homemade yogurt and rhubarb preserves! The family who owns the B&B are super nice, and we loved chatting with Yuya, who hosts and cooks breakfast. It's about one mile walk downtown — no problem at all. We definitely recommend this place!
Great place to stay in Anchorage
SCtripSCon 10/07/2017 19:20Great place to stay. Host was extremely helpful in accommodating our last-minute change of plans and made sure everything was comfortable for us. I talked to Scott several times by phone and email, and he was always so agreeable to help and make our stay a pleasant one. The arrangement with private bath and shared common area (kitchen and living area) suited us fine, and we had complete privacy. Breakfast was wonderful and was served in a pleasant room with sunny windows and fun art and decor for a visual feast as well. The hosts were kind to make us an early morning "to-go" bag breakfast for our early flight one morning- much appreciated. We had the use of the kitchen and common living area while we were there. Very close to airport and to town, in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Even had a washer/dryer in the private bath. Loved the posters/pictures on the walls of our place, and all the extra "homey" touches. We were were happy to stay at the Walkabout. Thanks!
