Outstanding service. Food great (soups) to fair (tough rump steak probably insufficiently aged). Excellent value in forest setting. A little more attention to authentic ambience (get rid if the kitsch decor!) and concentrate on quality cooking including desserts and this would be an exceptional spot!

We turned up about 9pm in pouring rain without a booking. There were 2 of us on motorbikes in need of drying out. They only had 1 room left so we took it. The lady at reception told us to take our bikes round the back and put them in the garage which was large and new. We returned to reception where we were taken down stairs to put our wet gear in the drying room. We then head to the room which was large and clean. After a nice shower and good sleep we went down for a good breakfast of bread, cheese, meats, cereal etc which was great.
All in all highly recommended.

Stayed as a family group of 8 for Xmas 2014. We had 3 rooms between us and they were all comfortable and warm. Very clean too. The "bar" was in the entrance lobby which was a little odd to us but had all we needed. The food was fresh and plentiful and breakfast was a generous feast. We were only b&b but only ate dinner elsewhere once as it just wasn't as good as the Alpenhof. The staff were delightful, Lisi actually wrote letters to the children from Santa expressing his surprise that they weren't at home! The ski lift is just walking distance from the hotel but sadly there was no snow when we were there. We drove instead to Flachau which has plentiful ski cannons. The tourist office in the town arranged a horse and carriage ride for us which was magical. We also got a train into Salzberg and the Christmas markets and the church service on Xmas eve was just beautiful. All in all a great place to stay (with a car), don't bother going out again, other tourists were coming into the guesthouse to eat so book you table in the morning then settle in for the evening and enjoy!

We came there in the afternoon of sunday and doors were closed. We show that they are opening at 4 pm. and we tought that we have to wait 40 minutes outside but then the door opened and the owners asked us if we need a room. We got a very nice room for three motorbikers and in the evening we had very good meal in the restaurant of the hotel. Breakfast was good.

are interested in a "special" gorgeous mountain area, wonderful to explore for hikers and photographers.
Family Meissnitzer is so helpful and warm to help you discover their neighborhood sharing maps and explaining the degree of difficulty or the length of time it might take to follow the hikes,
After your trip they welcome you back to excellent fresh food, prepared by 2 chefs, husband and wife, adorned with fresh herbs from the garden.
Stop there and stay over night, you will be touched by excellent quality in service, food and warmth.
