This hotel has 2 great things going for it:
-location in the heart of Rome, easy walking to all the great sites except maybe Vatican, but that's still 45 minutes at most.
-the staff are great! Amazing service. They were always friendly and helpful. They accommodated several special requests and were very gracious. The staff deserve lots of praise. Every single one of them went above and beyond our expectations.
The areas of improvement are some small aspects of the hotel itself. While it is charming and some things were nicely remodeled, they could add window screens (flies and mosquitos get crazy in the summer and fall) and they could improve the insulation in the walls to reduce noise between rooms and from the outside streets.
All in all we would definitely come back. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to our friends.

On a return trip to beautiful Rome we wanted to experience the Monti neighborhood, while being based here for two weeks and exploring and photographing more antiquities of Rome. This hotel is very comfortable overall. Our room was ample in size, bed comfortable, essential window for sights and sounds, bathroom very nice, and daily cleaning, we slept well. Nice breakfast room, offering fresh cornette, yogurt, ham and cheese, fresh bread, fruit and cereal, and most importantly caffe and capuccino. The roof top terrace area is one of the best we have experienced in many trips to Rome. The 24 hour front desk staff were always cordial, knowledgeable, and very willing to help. We have read reviews remarking on difficulties with the stairs. They are narrow, and steep, but this is a very old, but well cared for hotel, and management will offer to lug your luggage. Our experience is that some of the most charming hotels from Amsterdam to Rome have very similiar stair situations. Because we had a lengthy stay with Antica Locanda and could experience the art of consistency, we scored them Excellent.

We stayed as two couples at the beginning of octom.,our room were clean and confortable whith adequate bathrooms supplies and fresh towels every dat.This hotel is in an excellent location for walking to the main attraction,close to the metro station and whith plenty of bard and restaurants nearby.We enjoyed drinks on the rooftop terrace and fiind the breakfast to be more than acceptable.The other great benefit this small hotel has is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff.I would recommend this hotel to anyone contemplating a visit to Rome.

A small hotel in the middle of Monti, five minutes from the coliseum or Cavour station. Surrounded by a great choice of bars, cafes and restaurants, buzzing neighborhood, touristy and yet very roman. The rooms are simple but elegant, sadly no desk, reasonably quiet. The stairs are narrow, leading to a large roof terrace. Breakfast is simple but the coffee and the croissants are delicious. Enjoyable stay.

I loved this place. The staff is warm and friendly, the rooms are charming, there's a terrific rooftop garden area for coffee or wine before dinner. You're within walking distance of major attractions but in a fantastically vibrant neighborhood when you get back. Boutiques, gelaterias, cafes, and wildly interesting buildings surround the hotel.
