Good and bad.
martintA9070SXon 20/11/2017 23:33On arrival our rooms were not ready. This was not a problem as the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Could not have done more for us. Our rooms were very clean and spacious however the bathroom did have an unpleasant smell of urine even though it looked spotless. Our biggest upset was at breakfast the next morning. We had pre booked but the, grumpy looking, waitress stopped us in our tracks as we attempted to walk in and checked with the booking staff. This made us uncomfortable straight away as there were sharp exchanges between her and the check in desk. She made it very obvious that she was not happy with our arrival. Two couples with two children each. Aged 6-8. It’s a small area with noisy chairs and not much room. We separated the children to minimise the noise. She made it obvious to us that she was not happy we were there, even raising her eyebrows to another couple. I’ve never been so offended. Food was not replenished and we were almost embarrassed to make ourselves a coffee as the machine was so loud. It felt like we were adding to her annoyance. She is clearly not a morning person and should not be on breakfast duty. Below this I have to choose stars for service. I would like to put 5 for our evening staff on 31st August but 1 for our breakfast waitress on the 1st September!!!
Basic
Helmut Fon 05/11/2017 11:25My room was quite big (it was the room for handicapped people) but with lack of personality. The spacious bathroom had an ugly smell. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, microwave and kitchenware, so it is convenient if you want to cook your own food. The underground car park is charged with 8€ per night which is quite reasonable. There are tram and bus stops next to the hotel which is a better option to go to the centre of Orleans than walking because the surrounding area of the hotel is everything but fancy. Near the tram stop is a bakery which opens at 7 am.
Hard to find
Paul Bon 12/08/2017 07:33Admittedly there were roadworks in the area, but this place is tucked away and the signs aren't large.
Helpful receptionist. Underground parking. Despite being a non smoking room and hotel the room still smelt slightly of tobacco.
Proximity to the tram is great.
No beds??!
tineadam1017on 21/07/2017 10:42When we arrived late at night at this place, we found that there was one double bed in our appartment and one couch. We booked for four people, but the room was ready for only two. Huh??
We found out in the morning that apparently we should have unfolded the couch, found all sheets and cushions in a separate storage and assemble two of the four booked beds ourselves. The manager told me that we are stupid for not having done that, and that this is not a 4-star hotel after all. Also, when I said that it would be a good idea to tell people beforehand that half of the beds have to be assembled by the guests (because if I had known I wouldn't have booked this place), the manager did not see a problem. All this while a housekeeper stood next to the manager, nodding when I said that it is normal for us guests to expect the beds to be made. While the hotel made an error in not preparing our room properly, they did not in any way apologize or show concern.
Aside from all that: the water cooker in our appartment was broken. The place is next to a tram line and being on the tram side is noisy. Also, the road signs for the hotel are placed wrongly and misleading.
OK nothing special
Olem1on 13/07/2017 19:19We used this place as an overnight stop on the way south. It was clean and we had a decent enough sleep, parking was secure at a cost. The room was spacious but really dark. Location from tram was a real plus point on the door step, the area around the hotel was a bit strange not sure if it was residential or business...What I would say now is having traveled around France for a couple of weeks, there is better accommodation for this amount of money.
