Having read all the reviews before we came. I am pleasantly surprised. Apartment ok , big , clean. We had a balcony which was private. Shame about the location as the hill is quite a hike . We walked down and got a taxi back on most occasions for 4 euros . My only real disappoint was the pool was not heated!!!! The adult pool area is lovely quiet and relaxing and we haven't struggled for a sun bed

Stayed here for a week... I read ALL the reviews before we went and decided it ignore the negatives as a holidays what you make it. On the surface things seem great, but the little things made a big difference. The towels smelt, we felt dirty after showering from it. The shower didn’t drain away so you stood in your dirty water. The windows were rickety and didn’t close properly. There was so much noise (we near the pool) even being woken at 4am by people out by the pool, then again from 7am! The pool was freezing, why heat a adults pool but not the toddlers??? We never saw any kids in the adults only pool so ended up going to the one in the nearby hotel which was warm and lovely. The adults only pool was LOVELY though... only had 45 minutes there all week due to my toddler though 😕
The location was ok, I didn’t mind the hill but it wrecked my legs!
The rooms looked nice but and the beds and sofa were really comfy.
Loved the staff too, both on reception and the bar (the evening staff gave my daughter a lolly each day which she loved).
Overall the cheap price we paid outweighed the negatives and we had a lovely holiday... we would stay there again but would ask for a room further from the pool (hopefully we won’t have a pushchair next time as further away means steps!)
Nice Hotel - Shame about the location

I'll never complain about Cardiac Hill in The Algarve again. This hotel was half way up the mountain, okay there was a free bus service to the beach but only from 10:10 in the morning. Walking down was fine but coming back up, what a killer, twice a day!!! Other than that the hotel itself was nice, one or two little complaints, most of all the smell of the drains in the morning was unbearable and the maid service was poor, towels not changed for 3 days. The pool bar was okay but the beer taps were not working when we arrived and still were not working when we left 10 days later. We nipped across the road to the local supermarket and bought some cans of beer which we took to the poolside. Watch out for the adults only quiet pool, its full of kids!! The room was comfortable with all the expected facilities, EXCEPT air con and it was nice and quiet in the evenings. If you have a car, or hire one, watch where you park, we saw cars being towed away every day from the front of the hotel. Overall, it was nice though, if this hotel was picked up and put at the bottom of the hill I wouldn't have many complaints at all, oh and I must say the staff were all very friendly.
Nice family winter break

We have just returned from a week break here. Myself, husband and sons aged 10 & 12. The room (no: 31) was better then expected from reading reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. It overlooked the swimming pool and had some sea view. The kitchen had toaster, kettle, microwave, hob and basic utensils, an under counter fridge with a small freezer compartment for ice lolly’s. It was very clean and we had cleaners come in at least 4 of the 7 days. The towels were changed twice but they did have a funny smell to them which I didn’t like. The bathroom was clean and had a hairdryer which was quite powerful. I can imagine not having aircon would be a problem in warmer months but we were fine with the doors open and fly spray! The swimming pool was very cold but not too cold for the boys to spend most of the day in. A lifeguard is on duty all day too. There is a heated adult only pool which looked lovely but we obviously didn’t use it as we had children with us. There are plenty of sun beds. We didn’t eat from the snack bar, the beers were good tho. They are obviously refurbing the whole place and they were doing a lot of work on one of the rooms by the pool, it was boarded off but just a little noisy. They also painted the full outside walls while we were there. It is up a steep hill which we did walk a few times but also used the free bus service which was good. We usually got taxis back on a night which were €4-€8 depending how far you go. There is a supermarket a few doors away which sells fresh bread each day and most things you would need. We walked to the Mercadona at the bottom of the hill a few times which was slightly cheaper with more choice. We thought it was a great place for a relaxing break and would go again.
