We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious.
I had my children with me (2 & 4) and they loved the pools, the water slides, the wildlife in the ponds, the playground, the play fountains, and my daughter took part in a children's cooking course which they adapted for her being vegetarian. The the gardens are lovely.
The beach is down quite a few steps but well worth it, what a stunning beach!
I didn't try any of the restaurants.

We had a three bedroom apartment which was huge! Very well equipped and nicely decorated and furnished. It was great having the space and privacy whilst having the full use of the hotel services and grounds. We've stayed in some great hotels over the years but the grounds of the Barcelo are the prettiest we've seen. Beautifully landscaped and felt like a real oasis. There was a good choice of pools, none of which were ever busy and there was no issue with getting a subbed (bliss!).
The hotel is probably 90% Spanish guests (at least) and we decided that this was why there wasn't an issue with sun beds. The Spanish get up much later (most weren't heading to the pool until at least mid day) and stay up much later, as a result the restaurants aren't busy either until 10pm ish.
Staff were friendly and helpful, food was delicious, bar service efficient.
All in all we couldn't fault this hotel and will definitely return.

The hotel has many swimming pools but there is no swimming pool for small children. The water in the swimming pool of the kid’s area was freezing cold. The apartment lacked of kitchen utensils. For example: there wasn’t even a pair of scissors or a microware top. Although the apartment had appliances of first quality, there wasn’t a place where to hang the humid laundry anywhere. You didn’t have a mop to clean the floor. They were coming every 2 days to clean but some days the cleaning was very superficial. They didn’t put the dishwasher or clean the oven trays. The fridge was doing a weird noise when opening the door. Up in the attic, the Barbecue wasn’t electric so we couldn’t use it and there wasn’t much illumination to have dinner up there. The TVs were quite old. The shower was slippery. Careful if you go with small children. Our 3 year old child fell off and pushed one of his tooth inside his gum. I recommend buying a mat to avoid accidents. I think this aparthotel was 5 stars a long time ago but now to keep 5 stars it needs some renovation. We found it a bit overprized compared to other hotels that are newer and have more commodities.
The best of the hotel was the staff without any doubt. They were all attentive, well-educated always ready to help and with a smile. We also liked the environment, full of green spaces, well looked after facilities and the proximity to the beach. There is a “chiringuito” there where they put an amazing “arroz del señorito”. Highly recommendable! Also! The person who is in charge is great. Everybody talked very well about the restaurants inside the hotel but as we were with kids we didn’t have much chance to go.
The wifi connection worked really well in all the hotel surroundings, The Jacuzzi is also great.
The parking spaces were great, right under your building of apartments.

Stayed with the family in one of their apartments over a long-weekend and couldn't recommend this enough. The service is amazing and the setting is incredibly beautiful. Great value for money - will definitely be returning.

The Apartments are part of the 5 star Barcelo Hotel, the grounds are beautiful, 5 pools an impressive Spa and only a 2 min walk to the beach (though some of the other Hotels do have direct access to the beach). There is also a relatively big supermarket around 10 mins walk from the resort.
Great for kids, the kid's area is magnificent, especially the water slide.. The whole place is very peaceful.
My only complaint or observation, (and a petty one), is that the Kitchen could do with a Kettle and the Living room with a DVD player. There were also a lack of bins in the toilets ,bed rooms, and Terrace these would have been helpful..found it a little strange that the only place to throw rubbish was placed in the kitchen...
