This place is run by the most horrible owner and host I have come across in any place I have ever stayed. Do not dare to complain about anything as the owner will freak out and insult you like you have never experienced before.

This beautifully presented B&B, in a leafy and peaceful Kortrijk suburb, is run by a charming couple who are very friendly and welcoming. The greetings are always most warm and the breakfast spreads are delicious. The rooms are comfortable, room 3, with a sauna, especially so. Full and generous use of a beautifully kept garden is added and bicycles are available for hire. The city centre is five minutes’ drive away or a delightful walk along the canal. Laundry will be done for you at a very reasonable cost. The tariff is fair and competitive.

This place looks lovely from the outside, an attractive building with perfectly manicured gardens. The illusion continues while you are led through the house, that is until you reach the back staircase that leads up to the rooms. Thereafter things go rapidly downhill. The room was huge but badly laid out. The bed was like a bouncy trampoline. The "bathroom" was little more than a dark cupboard that smelled badly of drains and mould. To add insult to injury we got bitten to death by mosquitoes overnight. Breakfast was good but not exceptional. Couldn't get the wi-fi to work. The owner was, well strange... We would never go back. We very seldom dislike a place enough to give a bad review, so we just can't understand how come this place has so many good ones. Has it changed owners?

We recently spent three nights at Bloemenweelde. The B&B was very neat and clean and the breakfast was excellent. I would go back again. The yard is probably the best manicured landscaping in the country. They laundered our clothes for us at a very reasonable rate. This is just a very nice place to stay.

If you're a lover of beautiful gardens this is the place for you. Delightful garden planting a lawn so smooth you could play billiards on it and some quirky features.
That on its own would be good enough but add in a well appointed room, friendly hosts and a breakfast which will keep you going all day you have the perfect place to stay.
Set in a quiet residential street it may be hard to find without a Sat Nav and if you want to be in the hustle and bustle of a town centre this is not the place for you.
If you want somewhere quiet within walking distance of the river book your room now.
