Great location but underwhelming
Deanne Con 12/02/2017 13:02Have stayed here for Circuit des Remparts in Sept when it's really hard to get any where to stay near Angoulême and for location to town it's perfect as only 5 min walk into centre of town. However do bear in mind it's a really steep 5 min walk!!
The room itself was very, very basic and shabby and no one seems to clean the rooms. There is some parking but at busy periods you can't guarantee it.

alisonmb2015on 25/09/2016 10:58We stayed during the Circuit du Remparts, and found the location perfect. A 15 minute walk from the circuit, restaurants and shops, and just moments from the river for a walk to clear the lungs! The building is very impressive, with a lovely stone vaulted entrance. The apartments are small, and a little oddly laid out, but the kitchenette and bathroom were fine, and the beds comfortable. There was, as other reviewers have mentioned, a slight smell of drains from the kitchen, and the hotel is right on a busy traffic junction, so you have to choose whether you want windows open for fresh air or closed for less traffic noise. We were out all day, so this did not cause us any problem.
Budget stay but did the job!
NatOat_xon 23/08/2016 13:06We stayed in this accommodation in July as a group of 8 attending a wedding nearby.
First impressions were that it was very basic and more like residential apartments than somewhere for a holiday/trip, however for a budget stay it was fine. Don't expect any frills here but then again it's not awful. The only complaint I had was that there is no air con and in the heat of summer this was verryyyyyyy difficult to sleep in, especially as one of our party is heavily pregnant. However reception did give us fans at least which eased it a bit.
Beds are comfy enough, again basic but fine, as were shower and bathroom facilities.
Overall I would recommend this place if you're on a budget.
Much better than many similar priced places
RIF123on 10/08/2016 16:25Receptionist was very pleasant. The whole place is clean. The rooms are a decent size but you have to pay extra for internet. Beds are not so good - a bit like old camp fold outs but comfortable for what they are. Shower was excellent and it has cooking facilities.
Surprisingly good for budget hotel
surnburnton 25/09/2015 16:12A completely adequate small apartment with great shower and comfy bed .We had no view, just a stone wal !, but the upper floors had a great view. We stayed for the 'Circuit Des Remparts' -great racing but a bit of a climb up to the circuit and the town, but lovely to be able to walk by the river and go to the brilliant wine bar. Would go there again.
