What People are saying

worst B&B in 4 years of staying in France

Julie M on 14/07/2017 16:04

I emailed twice to book secure garage parking and did not get a response. Arrived and told there was none available. We were lucky to get parked 5 mins outside on the street which was not guaranteed secure. Birds roosted in the trees above our car and it was a total mess the next day. Staff not friendly. There were no street plans or information on Chalon. Very basic place. Walls need painting and carpets stained. Bathroom plug did not work. Room was tiny. I do not recommend staying here because for the same priced we had a fabulous B&B on the down to the South. No wifi in the room it is in reception and you need to ask for a code downstairs because they do not tell you.

Good Place near Chalon Railway Station

sairam123599 on 18/10/2015 08:22

It is located near the station and it provides value for money. Do not expect 24/7 help desk as one has to manage after office hours without any front office. The room is good. Kitchen is adequate. The rest rooms are big. There is a working desk and a sitting area. As you get down you have restaurents, banks and railway station.

Do anything you can to avoid this hotel.

A major reason to consider this appart'hotel is the secure underground car park. For me, it was the only reason. There was otherwise no way I would have booked an apartment in a slightly edgy neighbourhood near the station.

Driving back to the UK from Italy, I had plenty of wine and olive oil in the car and other lovely things that I wanted to be sure would be safe. I booked and paid for the apartment - and most importantly, the parking - nearly four months before travelling. But when I booked in, the receptionist denied knowledge of my car park reservation... and said it was full, anyway. Disaster! Catastrophe! How many journeys did I have to make back and forth to empty my car? I lost count, but I will never forget the hatred I now feel for the Appart'City group. If you are the kind of old fashioned person who values old fashioned things like getting what you pay for, and place value on people and organisations who deliver on their commitments, then AVOID this place like the plague.

Oh... and if you like your walls not to bear the bloody remains of squashed mosquitoes, or for bathroom fittings to be present (eg. a toilet-roll holder, or a bracket for the shower head), or even for there to be adequate cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery for three people (in a three-person apartment), then AVOID this place like the plague.

There are plenty of places to stay at which are cheap and clean and well-maintained. This ain't one of them.

Reasonably priced rooms but not as described

CavMcDs on 24/02/2015 13:44

My family of 5 had 2 rooms booked at this hotel on the way down to our snowboarding holiday this half term. Both rooms were supposed to have 3 single beds. Unfortunately the rooms we were given both had double beds, so we went back down to reception. As it was a very busy Friday night they didn't have any spare rooms but managed to upgrade us to King size beds. They said the hotel didn't have any rooms with 3 single beds, so I don't know why they said they did on Expedia! Although they had king size beds they obviously couldn't afford sheets to fit over them. By the morning our sheet was barely on the bed - not helped by the fact that my 9 year old son had to sleep in our bed with us! Not the most restful night's sleep. The kitchens are small and basic, but fine for a snack dinner/breakfast. We managed to park in the street right outside without any problem and there was a large supermarket about a 5 minute drive away. There was a bit of a lingering smell of smoke. It was OK, but I don't think we'll be visiting again.

Terrible place

goodoldalex65 on 12/02/2015 19:34

The staff were very rude and unhelpful, the room was dirty and smelt of smoke. No WiFi in rooms in 2015 this is really lame. kitchen sink and hob were grimy, thick dust on skirting boards and mildew on the ceiling. Shower was broken. I can't express enough how disappointed we were by the hotel and the rude receptionist. Stay at the ibis instead, much better. also building work going on from 6:30am they were drilling. AVOID
