What People are saying

Average Hotel

This was the base for the beginning and end of a kayak trip. The hotel staff were friendly, it helps if you speak some Spanish. The rooms were basic and I was surprised they were carpeted which I find unusual in warm climates. The rooms were clean, musty smell (carpets), carpets stained, A/C loud, beds too hard. The food at the on-site restaurant is mediocre, best to head down the Malecon where there are plenty of options. The location is at the eastern end of the Malecon and it requires a taxi or 1.2 mile walk to get to the central area.

Friendly Staff - Isolated Location - Needs Attention to Details

HeadingOut98229 on 03/11/2017 21:58

The staff is very friendly, although not all front desk attendants are fluent in English, welcoming, and helpful. During my multi-day stay, I used 2 different rooms, and both had the hardest beds I've ever experienced and huge pillows that were as stiff as life jackets. The location is very isolated from the Central District, requiring multi-mile walks or taxis to get around. It's also very dark at night, at that end of the Malecon, which some women mentioned to me wasn't comfortable. Phone broken and cobwebs with dead flies in the bathroom light fixture in one room. Towels are pretty rough but smelled clean; carpets stained. However, the prices are reasonable. With better attention to details, this hotel would deserve a better rating.

Great hotel

This is a professionally run, very clean hotel located across the street from the north end of the malecon, so a quick walk to the beach. The rooms are spacious, modern and quiet, with good wifi. We had a second floor room and could open the window, which was really nice instead of using the a/c at night. The pool area is gorgeous and the breakfasts outstanding. We traveled with another couple and found that booking directly with the hotel was less expensive than booking online.

Nice hotel - great location

average hotel, rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast included was great. Nothing fancy but great location.
found the rooms not very sound proof, the pool was quite cool, some staff spoke English but not all but we could get our point across
no elevator so you carry your luggage up the stairs. Free water for filling your water bottle and free washer and dryers so that was excellent.

Until they complete their refurbishment there are much better options in La Paz for the price

Apparently they have refurbished many of the rooms. Unfortunately for me, I was not in one of those so this review is based on a old, undated, and very disappointing room.

My room was old fashioned and stank of smoke. The bed was impossibly hard with an under blanket which didn’t even cover the mattress so I was sleeping direct on that with no padding at all under the sheet; the bathroom tiles were cracked and there is absolutely no sound proofing in the rooms. Everything was very old fashioned and needed updating but worst of all was the carpet which was old and dirty and you wouldn’t want to have bare feet. Wifi did not work in the bedrooms.

On the positive, the shower power is good and strong and there seems to be plenty of hot water. The room seems clean apart from the carpet but simply age makes it look old and grey. The pool area is nice, though I couldn’t find any towels so assume I was meant to take one from the bedroom which was difficult as I had only one and that was grey and threadbare. Breakfast staff were particularly friendly.

I’m being very critical and this place is OK for a day or two if you are having a brief stopover but there are many better places to go and I currently find this hotel very over-priced for the quality on offer.
